Reviews
Write a ReviewVery friendly. Always kept us on top of their schedule on this very large and complicated job. Reasonably priced for what the job entailed. Only issue was when they were done they left the yard in disarray. I had to till the entire area jus to get the ground smoothed out so we could get grass to grow. Would recommend still.
Pros and cons to my experience with American Rooter: Pros: 1. The person I spoke with on the phone (Sarah, I believe) and the technician, Dan, were both very personable. 2. They send you a picture of the technician before he comes to your house so that you know who to expect. 3. Dan told me up front what the cost would be to run a camera through my line and to replace my toilet. So, I knew before he started the work just how much the job would cost. The fact that I had them proceed was on me. Cons: 1. This company is WAY overpriced. I learned this after the fact. To run the camera through the line cost me $230 (plus $30 to âlocate the sewer lineâ). I have learned from multiple companies since then that they charge $125 for this service. 2. To install a new toilet cost $780, including the toilet. I was told that their cost for the toilet itself is about $300. That still leaves $480 in labor to pull the old toilet, replace the seal and install the new toilet â about a one-hour job. 3. Dan had to return three times (3 different days) as there was water coming out from under the bowl. It took that many trips to determine that the new bowl that had been installed was cracked. (There appeared to be a condensation issue as well with this bowl. It was not an issue I had with my previous toilet.) 4. Dan gave me an estimate to replace my 50-gallon water heater. The estimate was $1900. I just had it replaced by another company. They installed a commercial-grade A.O. Smith 50-gallon water heater for $1150. I could have had a standard A.O. Smith water heater installed by Loweâs for just shy of $1000.
Hi Dave, Thank you for your feedback. I do not feel that you are comparing apples to apples but rather apples to oranges. You see, while every single one of our work trucks will come to your home, they will have a sewer camera, a fully stocked truck (a warehouse on wheels) and our technicians are all background checked, drug screened, and authorized to work in the metro area. While I know our competitors VERY well, I can honestly tell you, they do not do these things - especially contractors from LOWES. Sadly. With us, you know you have a technician that will come to your home that is trust worthy. And as you can see, we stand behind our work. Yes, we came out to your home on numerous occasions - but you should see that we stand behind our work and our products. We replaced the entire toilet, twice, to find out that it was condensation. So, yes, we ate all costs associated with this repair when it was not even a product or labor warranty - at no cost to you. I am sorry that it took a few trips to come out to discover this because I know your time is extremely valuable. While I understand that our rates are a little higher than others, we also provide you with a completely different experience and service than other companies do.
The technician, Alex, was knowledgeable, kind, and courteous. He was respectful of my home by wearing shoe covers, knocking before coming in with his tools and when I asked if I needed to lay down any floor coverings he told me he would put covers on his equipment. He patiently spoke with my husband on the phone before beginning the work so that all our questions were answered. He worked thoroughly and efficiently. Thanks, Alex!
The only negative aspect of the service was the cost.
do it when its warmer weather! Brad was great
what a great company
They are very thorough. They try to upsell you on a lot of products.
I had 5 year that faucet that I could not get parts for and they replaced it with one that had a 10 year warranty. The plumber was very helpful. I would recommend them to anyone needing plumbing service.
Excellent work. They communicated with me through every step of the project.
This company was fantastic. My water heater went out and I was not able to get it lit back up. They came the day I called and gave me several options. Great people and great work. They answered all of my questions and installed the water heater and a water purifier in hours. I would recommend this company to anyone.
