I had a very long, VERY steep, very rutted gravel driveway. Two previous companies had declined the job. Asphalt Help gave me a price on the spot without hesitation. After a little negotiation we reached agreement. They showed up on the day that had been specified. They took a day longer than they originally expected but I now have an all weather heavy duty surface to drive on that no longer needs 4 wheel drive to transverse. Minor complaints are it wasn't always easy to talk with someone in charge. That seemed to change frequently and nearly all of the workers did not speak English. However all of my questions and requests were satisfied in a practical amount of time. i am pleased that I hired them.
They put down and compacted gravel for the base of the asphalt. Did a nice job, worked with me on what was needed. Easy communications. Started when they said they would. Finished quickly.
My driveway was paved on 6/20. When I got home from work that day I tried to ask some questions of the workers but none of them spoke English! When Nick called later for payment he said he wanted it that way because he could pay them less that way. He was eager to take payment over the phone that day but since then has refused to return any of my calls. There are several problems I have found that need to be corrected. There is a culvert that runs under the end of my drive. They finished one side nicely with asphalt but on the other side they just threw stones over. Several neighbors have mentioned this to me. Then several weeks after the drive was paved a small hole formed at the back end of the drive as I was backing out to go to work. Also, there are rust stains all over the surface of the drive from the roller. I would like to know if those stains will ever go away but since he will not reply to any of my calls I cannot even ask the question! He never came by to check his employees work! I left detailed messages with the answering service on 7/1, 7/8, 7/10, and 7/14 and none of those calls were ever returned. On 7/21 I finally got a voicemail box at what I assume is his office and stated I would pursue other recourse if I did not hear from him that day. I finally got a call back from a female employee a bit later. Even with all my info she kept asking if I was calling about having my drive sealed! I repeated all my info again and she said she would check and call me right back. Waiting for that call made me late for my own work but she did eventually call back to say Nick would come to my house on 7/28, with no time given. He never came. I called one last time on 7/29 asking to know what was going on and as of today have still have had no response! I thought using Angi or Home Advisor was supposed to be a way to avoid such problems. Will you help me get this resolved in a satisfactory manner or do I need to search for other means?
Great job and fast service
Some issues with communications but the work was very good.
They completed the job ahead of schedule and did a great job
Thanks, Ed, for the 5-star review
My Sister and I both needed work done to our driveways. We called Asphalt Help after reading the reviews on Home Advisor along with 2 other companies that simply sent out drones for their estimates. Nick, the owner of Asphalt Help "personally" came to our houses to evaluate our driveways. He advised that I needed a new driveway and my sister needed to have her driveway resurfaced. He explained all the details and options. His 30 years of experience in the asphalt industry was quite apparent. As a result, making the decision to use his company was a no brainer. The jobs were completed along with a couple of fixes that were taken care of immediately. We would Highly Recommend!
It was our pleasure
The only glitch was that the crew had to postpone the work at one point, and the office didnâ t let us know until we called them. But the foreman and the crew were very attentive and courteous when they were here.
Thanks, Bruce for the 5-star Review
The crew was very professional and worked quickly even with rain. What an amazing crew! I was a little dismayed that they needed to open my garage door because heavy fumes entered the car parked in the garage and went into the house. ( they originally said I wouldnâ t have to be home for installation). Also the driveway was not cleaned or edged prior to capping the driveway and there is a ridge left along the right side of the driveway. However, over all I am pleased with the work. I will use them for sealing next year.
Thanks Teresa it was our pleasure!
