Carolina Garden Company were great to work with. They took on more projects on the spot and found ways to save us money. We have future projects coming and we will be using them again.

Brad is so nice to work with: he listens, wants to understand what is needed, and is very knowledgeable and professional. He also is creative with options, and is flexible. He communicates well, so I felt up-to-date on our project. On top of that, he's a very nice and interesting guy! I was very happy with the work his men did and with their quiet, very work-oriented time here. I hope I have the opportunity to work with Carolina Garden Co. in the future.

We paid over $10,000 for Carolina Garden Company to install brick steps at our home in February 2021. Carolina Garden Company failed to stand behind their work when the sides of the steps failed and refused to address the problem. A detailed account follows. We contacted Carolina Garden Company in December 2020 to replace flagstone and timber steps in back of our home with brick steps in order to provide a pathway for rainwater drainage. Brad from Carolina Garden Company came to our home to look at the proposed work. I showed him the steps we had built at the side of our home in 2017 for rainwater drainage that included raised edges and indicated I wanted the same design for the back of our home in order to serve the same purpose, water drainage. Carolina Garden Company quoted $9670.00 to complete the requested work. Per the company?s policy, we paid half of the cost up front. Work began on February 1, 2020. On February 9, 2020, I was told that they had completed the job. Upon inspection, I pointed out that they failed to install the raised side bricks (like the 2017 steps) needed to direct the rainwater down the steps. Brad of Carolina Garden Company wanted to construct the raised edge with masonry glue and promised that it would be as strong or stronger than cemented bricks. With this guarantee, I reluctantly agreed to the masonry glue option instead of cement. An additional $700 was charged for the raised brick sides. The job was completed using masonry glue and payment in full was rendered. By May 2021 it was clear that the masonry glue was not holding up. We began to find bricks that had fallen over and jiggled when brushed against or lightly tapped. I contacted Brad via text to address this situation and sent Brad photos of the dislodged bricks. Brad refused to remedy the problem. From his June 30, 2021 email to me: ?I have no interest in furthering this conversation nor addressing any other issues with the loose bricks.?
Response from Company:
As they say "the devil is in the details." this client has spent the last three months trying to ruin my company. What is missing from her description: -she was given $500 credit to remove clay from her beds that she initially stated was OK to leave -the person that removed the clay ran over the brick edge with a wheelbarrow that caused them to become loose -she "tests" the brick edging by kicking them to see if they'll come loose (which they did) -she is an opportunist looking for free work Please message me and I will provide email documentation. Check out my other reviews for an accurate assessment of my work.
