I have been working with them for about 3 years now, it took me awhile to finally figure out how much remodel work I could afford. Richard Kaufman has stuck with me through a few troubling contractor problems, my pick not his. Rick has gone to the city and county for me to help straighten out some problems caused by the first contractors incompetance. I am happy with the finished project.

We interviewed 7 architects for our whole house remodel: 3 from Service Magic, 4 that friends suggested. Rick was the perfect choice for our big house remodel with the not-so-big budget. He quickly understood our familys design aesthetic and needs. A brilliant, artistic architect, Rick designs stunning homes and giant bridges, churches and buildings. Yet his fees are competitive, a bargain for his skill, attention to detail, and desire to please. He finds unique, cost-effective solutions and will work until youre satisfied. Hes reliable, responsive, calm, patient, and a very nice guy. We were fortunate to find Rick Kaufman for our project.

Rick was extremely helpful thorough out the entire construction process. He has a keep eye for good design and how that applies to construction. I was impressed in the way he ensured my ideas and needs were always addressed. He worked in conjunction with my contractor and landscaper as well as with the subcontractors. Very glad we chose him!

Fast initial response but responses afterwards were poor. Rick Kaufman can go missing for several days. He wants to be paid the day he submits an invoice and goes awol after being paid. Doesn't respond timely to planning departments (over 60 days and no response so far).

I highly recommend this company.
