The cost of cleaning the chimney was very reasonable. The cost to clean the dryer duct was a little overpriced

We have a gas fireplace (with key) and we saw it being lit up with gas logs once when we toured this house. Since then we have not used it since we were used to easy, switch on/switch off gas fireplace before. So I hired this company to inspect, clean and start the gas fireplace. Luca was stuck in traffic and arrived late, no big deal but it is d be nice if we get an update about such delays since we left work early to be home. FP was cleaned and it works fine as it did not need any repair etc. We were just being safe to have it checked once. The tech was in a rush from the moment he arrived and we did not get to ask questions or discuss anything especially about the inspection of the outside cap etc mentioned in the task list prior to hiring. He needs to ask if we have any questions etc without showing he is in a rush to get out. That makes us more comfortable without feeling like we are holding him back from another call or whatever. Overall the job got done; felt a bit pricey (no repairs) despite the discount which is appreciated. First time getting this done so it could be our unfamiliarity of the process.

THERE WAS NO REPAIR DONE; HOMEADVISOR SHOULD NOT FORCE THAT IN THE DROP DOWN. PLEASE PROVIDE FREE TEXT OPTION FOR THE WORK DONE. We have a gas fireplace with gas logs; it wasn't used since we moved to this home 2.5 yrs ago and we were not used to this type of gas fireplace and hence wanted a proper inspection/cleaning before turning it ON. There was nothing wrong with it. We were told a chimney inspection would be done, cleaning the flue etc. Well, the fireplace was indeed cleaned (some debris as we hadn't used it) and the flue cleaning I am guessing happened while he ran that shopvac with the flue open but given the short hose, idk how high he could possibly have cleaned. Before he came, he had asked me to send pics of our chimney and I had sent it. When he came, he said it was prefab and there was nothing to inspect! He said he could see it from outside! This check was more to see if it was not prefab and so we could charged more. Given that he ran the shopvac for a while and turned the gas to ON position, brought the logs from basement fireplace to upstairs and just arranged them to turn on the fireplace, I don't feel it was worth $250. This was a discounted rate too! He was late which is understandable but was grumpy when I called to ask his ETA. I said hello and nice to meet you when he arrived and he just ignored me. He did say sorry later for being late but he seemed to be having a bad day. Overall, while I am happy I can use the fireplace now, I feel like for the little shop vac cleaning he did (I have a powerful shopvac myself) and no inspection otherwise anywhere, I am not sure if it was worth that much. I am honestly in two minds about whether I'd hire him again or not. Tech's name is Luca.
