Horrible customer service, experience, and job. My father-in-law is a double amputee and is in a wheelchair so we help him out around the house. He had a new fence put in during the summer and never had the old fence stained he decided to have it stained for cosmetic and protection purposes. He contacted South Star Fence (SSF) and set up an appointment to have it stained. They arrived on Sept 18th and started to stain the fence with the wrong color stain. This should have been a sign of what was to come but everyone makes mistakes and we worked together to get the right color. Once completed it did not seem to look right but we did not know what to expect. We waited about a week and started to notice SSF had put a very light coat had stain runs all over and got stain on the new siding. I contacted SSF and spoke to Crystal who was extremely nice and let her know the siding had a stain on it and it looked like the fence needed another coat. She indicated it would not be a problem and we scheduled a day for them to return. The appointment day came and no show or call. I spoke to Crystal and let her know no one showed up so we scheduled for another day. The next appointment day came and no show or call. At this point, I was a bit frustrated with them and reached out to Crystal again... I asked why no one was showing up. Crystal indicated she does not control where their workers go or do. This took me by surprise because I have never had any business not want to take accountability for their employees. I questioned Crystal why SSF would set appointments for jobs without knowing if their employees will show up. She quickly got sharp and indicated she was not the owner and had no control over what the employees do. I realized quickly this conversation was going nowhere. So I asked her where we go from here. Crystal proceeded to make another appointment. We got rain on the day of the next appointment. I knew no one was going to come but we did not even get a call to reschedule. So I called Crystal again and asked why there is never any communication from their end. Her dismissal attitude was not surprising. It has now been well over a month since the job was done so another appointment was made. Again it rained on the scheduled date but Crystal called and rescheduled. The scheduled date came and much to my surprise 3 guys finally showed up. They came to the front door and asked me to walk out to the fence. Only one of the guys barely spoke English and it was very hard to understand what he was trying to explain. What I got from the conversation was they could not put a second coat on because the stain had set and the only option was to strip the entire fence and re-stain it. He pulled out his phone, showed me wood stripping products, and asked me what stripper would work. I told him I did not know. So the 4 of us stared at the fence for 20 min and I finally asked what their plan was. One worker started laughing and the other showed me a stripper and said they would go to Lowes or Home Depot and would return. I knew they would not return, and I was right. I called Crystal the next day and asked to have the owner call me. It is now Nov 12th and that call was 2 weeks ago. They have no intentions of correcting the fence or cleaning the stain off the brand-new siding. Please take a look at the photos of the job for reference.
Aside from your condescending tone Bruno, you are not the customer we were doing business, you tried to step in after the first coating. We do apologies for the weather. I do know our crew tried their best to do the job TO YOUR LIKING. As for your complains we have received your letter from The Better Business Bureu, and I will happily explain with proof of all our interactions. Thank you for requesting a REFUND only.
Hard to get good work, done when told it would and happy with the job. They did just what they said and got the job started and finished on time and done in one day. Very happy.
Poor communication and lies. They never shown up in the house but lied that they are at the door, when you get to the door, they claimed they called you but never answer your calls for someone to come to your property. The same people confirmed the previous day that someone will be coming that day. Till this moment they continue to lie that they will come in today but yet to see them before this survey. Hopefully they will come today. Will never recommend them to anyone. Very poor customer service, they will never return call with all their promises to do so.
We do apologize for this experience Friday. We try our best to accommodate each customer. As you can see by our reviews, we pride our other reviews this is not how we usually work. We have made some changes in the office, and we are trying our best to adjust ourselves to the changes. ***Please keep in mind your job isn't completed either.
