Write a ReviewThey were very messy and unprofessional and they gave her a quote that they would not honor and they charged her extra.
We are sorry for the confusion that happened with Lynn and her husband. The extra charge was for additional scope than was added during the process. We explained that, but they were still disappointed to have to spend more money. The "messy and unprofessional" rating was due to dust left on the furniture after the job was complete. We explained that painting is equivalent to any construction site. We vacuum and wipe up after our jobs, but it is not the same as a cleaning service. Again, sorry for the confusion.
I was attracted to the company due to its high review rating initially, which was borne out in all of my dealings with them, especially the customer service part--Spencer. I would state that the company is frank about its carpentry ability on the website--they are not carpenters, but painters who can make simple cuts. I hired 5-Star for exterior painting, which included a bay window. I discovered I had some wood rot that needed repair. Without too much elaboration, the finished product looks fine, however, having watched the repair I know a carpenter would have made straighter, tighter joints and done a better job overall. I assume the thought was a little caulk goes a long way to fill the gaps. Overall, I feel good that I hired the company. It went out of its way to make sure I was happy, coming back to make touch ups and such with no complaints. I will hire them again when I need painting done--though I may hire a carpenter to fix anything major before the painting which may be more cost effective.

Very professional
All of the staff was friendly, prompt, and professional. They showed up when they said they would for both the estimate and the work, provided any information I needed, and completed the prep and painting with ease. Smooth and easy for me, which is greatly appreciated. Price was fair, and less than I thought it would be.

After reading the other reviews I thought Five Star would be a good choice. Their work is fast but sloppy. Stuart makes excuses but does not fix their mess. I regret choosing them.
This review is in regards to caulk applied to his already leaking and messily caulked windows. Five Star Painting was never contracted to fix his leaking windows or clean up caulk lines, only to caulk and sand to hide joints as much as possible. To make him happy, we removed and applied caulk 3 times to his windows because he didn't like the way it looked. Ultimately, we returned the caulking to the original state that he had done himself because he was unhappy with the result. We have credited the entire caulking amount of his windows despite the time spent and that it was never on the original contract. Again, in order to keep a happy customer..
