Brian and his team did a great job building a retaining wall for us. He explained what was needed and why. Cleaned up nicely when done. Would certainly recommend!

I had the front stoop and sidewalk redone in concrete by Gold Lawn Care. Communication during the project was ok, but problems have continued to mount up since. 1. They had the concrete truck drive across my yard, which left 6ruts and broke the sprinkler system. 2. Getting them to clean up, fix the ruts, and fix the sprinklers took weeks and at the end, the seed used was full of weeds, the ruts still show, 9 months later, and the sprinkler heads were all installed crooked and had to be fixed. 3. The concrete is wavy and bulged in spots. 4. The worst of all, the sidewalk cracked 2-3 months after the project was complete. They have yet to fix it, communication is almost non-existent, with empty promises to fix it since July. It is December now, too cold to pour, no follow-through has been had and communication is practically non-existent. 5. Lastly, Brian took all the money upfront, the quote, which I was promised many times, was a two-line e-mail stating what would be covered, including cracking. Bottom line, not someone to use for concrete jobs. We will see if anything happens to follow-through on correcting the problem. Update:12/03/2020 Brian Gold and the crew installed a new sidewalk and front porch in March/April of 2018. During the project, the crew was not very professional with feedback and questions. When I noticed that forms were wavy and crooked, they literally kicked them and said, There you go. Having no porch and no front stoop, we continued. When the concrete truck came, they left very large ruts in the yard and broke sprinkler heads. After continued follow-up, they partially fixed them, used weed-filled seed, and partially fixed the sprinkler system. The front stoop is wavy and crooked, it pools water in front of the door and the concrete bulged out on the side due to the forms not being properly installed and supported. Only 3 months later, the sidewalk cracked, which was supposed to be covered under warranty. After multiple empty promises to fix it, Brian Gold stopped responding and never returned. I later heard that he filed Bankruptcy on Gold Law Care and started business under a different name, so any claim I had was gone. Today, I see the business name still advertised here. I see plenty of good reviews, but my experience was horrendous. So, please beware and hope that nothing goes wrong that requires fixing from this person/company.

Kept asking for money all the way through the project. Was supposed to be partial down and then the rest at the end, but asked for more in the middle. Left it unfinished and planted shrubs without asking. My name is Sheree, and I take care of Ms. Davidson and her house. Just to clarify, You Did ask for more money, she was not late in paying you the initial payment. We actually called you and told you that it was taped to the door and you could come get it any time. Three checks were written to you, the initial payment, another payment in the middle that you requested and another at the end. You slanted her porch towards the house so now every time it rains there's a puddle right outside the front door. Also to find out you damaged the sprinkler line that ran under the sidewalk. The water under the slab has now cracked the concrete and it now has to be torn up, the line repaired, and the slab redone. Costing Ms. Davidson more money. For you to come back and place the blame on a 91 year old woman is shameful!!!

I NEEDED NEW STEPS IN MY PATIO TO REPLACE OLD WOOD ONES. THEY CAME UP WITH A CREATIVE IDEA THAT I HAD NOT CONSIDERED, AND IT PROVED TO NOT ONLY BE A BETTER SOLUTION, BUT CHEAPER AS WELL. QUALITY AND CRAFTMANSHIP WAS TOP NOTCH. HIS EMPLOYEES WERE RESPECTFUL AND CLEANED UP WELL.

Not knowledgeable about removing Bermuda Grass. Laid sod over it after I told them Bermuda Grass would grow up over the sod and kill it.
Response from Company:
Joyce, I can not understand why Home Advisor would allow a rating after I finished over 3 plus years. sorry, things did not work out better.

I hired Gold Lawn Care to construct a 5'x7' concrete slab for a shed. They did a good job. They placed 5 bags a gravel against the forms to make sure that the concrete did not spill out from under the forms. The person who set the forms did a good job making sure they were flat but still had 1/4" per foot of fall to shed water. I am happy with how it turned out.

I hired Gold to install two separate retaining walls/landscaping areas, and re-sod a portion of my front yard. Unfortunately we only got half way done. The finished product looks great but it required a lot of my involvement to ensure it was done correctly, including me getting in the dirt with his crew and showing them how to cut angles in the stones to fit up around a curve. The crew Brian used were all young men who worked extremely hard, were very polite and were intent on doing a great job, but I was often concerned for their safety. They were working in the heat of summer, and did not bring water nor did Brian provide them with the necessary tools, so we provided them with both water and tools, including shovels, wheelbarrows, and saws. The project was never on time, and there was always another project which took precedence over mine, which was extremely frustrating. A one week project took about 4. I had wanted it done prior to our 4th of July party, but that didn't happen, so I had a huge muddy hole in my front yard. I think Brian underestimated how difficult the work was going to be. Once the front yard portion was completed, I decided to go in a different direction and used Land Escapes, LLC to finish the rest of the project, even though it cost me much more than what Brian had quoted me. I would highly recommend Land Escapes. They did a wonderful job, on time, and without needing my constant oversight. Well worth the additional expense. I think Brian was overbooked and unable to help supervise my build. He had good ideas and was excited to do the work, but there were just too many stumbles along the way. I have had to go back over the past few months and re-glue several of the capstones which came loose, and had to re-sod the entire portion Brian did because it all died despite my constant watering. I paid 50% down, and when I approached Brian about refunding a portion of my money to cover the additional costs I incurred, he refused.
Response from Company:
Once a year, contractors have a client where we just do not see eye to eye. The job came out great and we both decided to cut our loses. We completed 1/2 the job and he paid 1/2. We went our separate ways. I just do not understand why Home Advisor allows a review over a project which is completed 8 months ago. He even stated that the project looks great and is wonderful.
