Reviews
Write a ReviewAWFUL. That is Hansons. If I could rate Hansons zero, I would. Do NOT sign a contract with them for anything â theyâ re corrupt â liars, horrible workmanship, and the worst customer service â from the top down. They contract lowest bidders for roofing. I had a fine roof, and they installed inappropriate, damaged materials. They caused leaks. They attempted to fix it ten times. They promised to repair the damage but quit communicating. They cost twice as much as the average. And they will force you to arbitration, so unless youâ re wealthy, it is cost-prohibitive. Do not sign the contract. Do not hire Hansons. Don Thompson was the salesman, and he lied to me and my wife. His boss, Scott Lamacchia, a regional sales manager, lied to us as well. At a certain point, we deferred the warranty because of their corruption and ineptitude. We had multiple roofers and inspectors on site after that, and their disgust was nearly as bad as ours. They even failed the county inspection, and that is damn near impossible to do. Itâ s one of many pieces of evidence of how terrible they are. Do yourself and your family a favor: Stay away from Hansons. Hire a local, reputable company. Hansons cannot be trusted under any circumstance.

DO NOT, AND I MEAN, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH HANSONS!! Save yourself a headache! Lengthy read, but hoping to save others from this experience!! After our home had suffered tree damage from the storms this summer, we reached out to have our roof accessed. We found broken trusses in the roof from initial tree impact, gutter and shingle damage and mold in the attic space. Initial meeting with sales rep seemed great, he talked up the benefits of going with a company like theirs, the quality they provide and his biggest point being the importance of 'hiring a reputable company vs any "Joe schmo" off the street because of the extensive repairs we needed'. Sounded great, right? So, as first time home owners and first time making insurance claims, we agreed and signed a contract. Even taking on a financial burden with a loan to cover the remaining balance to ensure the longevity of our roof. Fast forward to pre install, we are told multiple times that we don't even need to be home at the time of install. Thankfully I was home the morning of the install, because it was a joke! A small 3rd party subcontacted crew of 5 arrive without a project manager from hansons, and with the crew leader only speaking broken English. But we greeted them and we let them get to work. After they removed the shingles, I realized they were laying shingles without even repairing our damaged trusses or installing the new plywood we had to replace moldy boards. After making the crew leader aware of the needed repairs, he stated they weren't told about damage nor was it mentioned in the work order. They then had to remove the plastic prep sheeting to cut into our roof. Their "repairs" were beyond sub par to put nicely. Even though we had new boards avaliable to sister our trusses, the crew decided to use old wet boards they had laying around in their truck bed. Not to mention the completely molded roof boards they left and shingled over, damage they did to our siding, endless trim damage, ripped window screens, and even being so kind as to take our remaining plywood boards, shingles, and materials on their way out. After having a follow up with hansons reps and voicing our concerns, our experience, and noting the lack of repairs and new damages, we are met with unapologetic reactions, excuses, and so far no willingness to make this right. On top of that, as we tried to make progress with raising concerns, we were told by the technician assigned to us, to "loose my number" After being told that our issues will be fixed, it's now been 5 weeks of radio silence and no returned calls or texts from the general manager, Scott. Even after reaching out and texting him, making him aware of the water we now have coming into our basement foundation because they have not yet installed gutters. We are truly shocked by their unprofessionalism. I wish we would have known more about their "reputation" before we signed with them! A quick search shows that we aren't the only ones facing issues with hansons and being met with silence from the company and left with a headache!
Hanson did an excellent job installing my gutters.
Had several minor issues. Customer service very responsive.
UPDATE Just got off the phone with the area manager, he claims he didn't say this would be done by winter, which is untrue, luckily I have witnesses to that call, I cancelled, we went back and forth and he said he will turn it over to his collection department and that I will owe 30%. He said I signed a contract... We are 5 months into this over $27,000 order, not including the $110 permit i regret paying for and the potential $1600 for osb board and 1x6's for soffit, met with them July 13th, I sent info to cancel 9 windows, 1 sliding door and siding and soffit on a doormer ( less than 2 squares) September 6th, was sent a text from the office with colors confirming what we ordered, was completely wrong, replied no to confirm, was told file would be sent for cancellation, area manager called me same day said I couldn't cancel as the windows were already ordered, which I find odd as I never confirmed. He told me I would have to pay a ridiculous percentage of the overall quote, I advised we were told this would not work as it would put the install in the middle of the winter, he guaranteed me it would be before winter. Got a message Novenber 3rd that I had to pay for the permit, which we did assuming they were ready to install and we'll nothing Here we are December 8th 2022 no new windows doors and siding have 5 feet of snow already and supposed to get 3 more feet this weekend. And 4wd and chains required where we live and no trailers allowed, will see how this works out and my next move from here. Pretty upsetting situation! If I were you keep looking, you can get better quality, customer service elsewhere more affordable. Definitely felt we were taken advantage of at this point and have been lied too, I suggest you read all the reviews over the last 2 years, we should have been more proactive in reading them. Probably one if the biggest most expensive mistakes we have ever made. Also they send "general messages" text to you counting down the weeks until the windows and siding are here, I contacted them multiple times questioning the time line, they said not to worry the project would be done before winter and before the "general messages" state it would be done.
Customer recived the assistance from home advisors pro.
Did everything as promised
Outstanding performance!!!
They were prompt, friendly and thorough
I hired them for siding, windows and gutters. The gutters were subcontracted and I would've been better off with the old gutters, they did such a horrible job. Said they'd go under the shingles, they put uneven straps on top all along my roof lines. Which would've been OK if the gutters were angled correctly and didn't leak water between the gutters and the roof. They came out a few times to try to correct it, but never got it right. Caused damage to a bathroom window. Hanson's should stick to what they're good at...siding and windows.
