Reviews
Write a ReviewThe project was completed on time, and I'm looking forward to using the pool this summer when I will update this review with details about that experience. My main concern is that, during the sales process, no one from SplashFiberglass mentioned the complete devastation this project would do to my backyard (see before and after photos). While I started out with a lush and healthy lawn, by the time the contractors had finished, they had destroyed 2/3 of the surrounding landscape. I did hope that the grass would regrow, but unfortunately this didn't happen. I essentially had a pool surrounded by wide swathes of mud. You couldn't walk over it and it became a mud bath whenever it rained. This situation essentially rendered the pool unusable. Since I could not afford the additional expense of installing a patio or tiling all around the pool to cover up the mud, I elected to simply returf the areas that had been destroyed. Even so, this cost me a whopping $2,500 just to lay down grass and restore the area to its original state. Needless to say, this kind of extra expense was a complete shock. It seems I had mistakenly assumed that the contractors would leave the un-excavated areas of my yard just as they had found them. So I approached Sean Locklear to ask for reimbursement of this unanticipated extra expense. But he promptly refused and quoted me chapter and verse of the contract that indicated he was absolved of ANY responsibility for virtually ANY damage caused by his team. What SplashFiberglass SHOULD have done was communicate with me upfront about the anticipated damage they would cause and the necessary restoration costs. Had they done this, I could have factored it into the overall cost of the pool and made my decisions accordingly. I like companies that are up front about overall costs and potential risks. I don't like being hit with financial surprises from vendors who operate with a "Gotcha!" attitude that is deceitful and in bad faith. Since SplashFiberglass failed to be transparent on this important issue, and I'm having to find another $2,500 to even make my pool usable, I cannot in good faith recommend their services. Buyer beware!
Lynne, thank you again for your business and feedback. We will be out next month to open the pool and our owner will gladly go over the above issues. We appreciate you sharing your experience and we definitely never want someone to feel like they were mistreated. Our machines do make a mess! We are sorry this wasn’t understood from the beginning. We are in the process of buying yard mats and even offering seed and straw / sod packages moving forward. Again we will see you soon and discuss further. Have a great one!
Splash Pools has a 5 star rating again and again because of their customer service. Chris their sales associate listened to our vision and worked within our budget. I’ve heard so many scary stories about pool builders and installation processes. Were there adjustments that needed to be made? Of course! This is with every pool build. What sets them apart is how Sean and his team communicate and how they ensure they are doing what is in our best interest. We weren’t stressed AT ALL through this process. We have a septic field and the regulations in Anne Arundel County are difficult. They made sure to work with the permits and County. Their contractors are respectful of you and your property. We went with the Wylela model and are very happy with the outcome! We also pivoted and ended up with the heater/chiller. Since our pool was installed in the winter, we never “opened” it, but they will be returning to open it in the spring! I am going to come back to this review when the pool is filled up, ready to open, and the furniture is out and finished. Zero regrets with Splash Pools. They truly care about their projects and clients. It shows.
Jamie! Thanks for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review. We appreciate you and Bob. We look forward to opening your pool this season!
Splash Fiber Glass Pool Company is an A+ operation. I was both surprised and pleased with how comfortable it was working with Sean and his entire crew. Sean is highly knowledgeable regarding his product, and while totally professional, he is also pleasantly personable. Sean met all deadlines that were within his control. From conception to completion, he was on-site throughout most of the construction, and was readily available by text or phone to answer any questions and solve any problems. I was truly impressed by how efficiently they prepped the area and how afterward they cleared away any debris. I now have a lovely, heated, salt water, free form pool with attractive pavers and a privacy fence. And, of course, the price was lower than competitive companies. I confidently recommend Splash Pools, a 5 Star company.
Joanne it was a pleasure helping you with your pool project. Thank you for the great review and we appreciate you!
