Reviews
Write a ReviewWe hired Glen to remove 2 wood decks and replace with concrete patios 1 year ago. We hired him based on these reviews. The demo, framing were all great. The pour was done on a very hot day, last May. Everything about the finished product was awful. There was no color to it, and it should have been Ginger. Blotches throughout, discoloration, cracks, steps had a different shade than the patio surface. Glen came out and I asked him if this is what it should look like and he said no. Now I understand shit happens but my reason for publishing this review is because my wife and I had several sit downs with Glen after. We asked him what he would do to make it right. We had not paid the balance and we wanted to hold back money. Glen insisted that his character and integrity were on the line and that he would make it right. We held back $1000 and my wife said to hold back more. I should have listened to her. He said wait a month and reassess. We did. Nothing changed. He came out and power washed it. Nothing. After another month of us trying to contact him without a response, he sent a guy out with a paintbrush to show us examples of a sealant. They were awful. The guy was present for the pour and said there should have been an extra guy on the job since it was hot and they needed to spread the concrete quickly but Glen did not want to pay for him. Then Glen disappeared, no character nor integrity which he said was a reason not to hold back more money. Iâ d publish pictures but thereâ s no way to do that on this app. I understand this space is full of 5 star reviews. Thatâ s why we hired him. If youâ re getting pavers installed, Iâ d go with him. If youâ re getting concrete poured or if the integrity, character and commitment of your contractor matters to you, I would stay clear of Glen Turner and Stoney mountain. We gave him every opportunity to help make it right and he just took the money and ran. We have to relive this every time we are in our patio.
The timing was auspicious. Glen and crew got the work done efficiently and carefully and matched up with everything we agreed was necessary. I would certainly recommend them.
We had a great experience with them. They were very laid back, which came in handy when we had to reschedule the project, as well as when we wanted slight changes to the design that was taking shape, or when unexpected stuff came up, like a water line that had to be moved. Most importantly: Our new patio looks great!
Glen Turner and crew are professionals in stone, brick and concrete work. They were very courteous and answered all questions and concerns I had during and after completion and I would hire them again for this type of work at my home.
Very professional easy to work with
Estimator David Bock was accurate with prediction of duration of work required, came to oversee two workers, who knew their business very well. Showed up on time, cut a paver to finish our patio, cleaned up, and left. Mr. Bock suggested method for completion of some other stone/patio projects for us.
For starters, Glen Turner and his crew are experts in the installation of stone, brick and concrete. They understand the necessities of a professional installation, and perform all of the little extras that end in a beautiful project. Glen is an excellent designer, and really gives thought to what works and what looks the best. He knows all of the products available for a project and will select those that provide the best performance for the design. Glen is conscious of the costs and pays close attention to the project details that affect the overall price. He provides alternatives so that the home owner can keep the project cost within his/her budget. We started our project to repair a partially collapsed, raised paver patio. When Glen uncovered the first few pavers he realized that the existing patio was poorly constructed. Furthermore, he explained what had happened with our patio, and what would be required to perform the repair. We decided to completely remove the old raised patio and replace it with a ground level patio. Always with costs in mind Glen decided to reuse the existing material which saved us almost all of the material costs for the project. What really impressed me about the Stony Mountain crew and Glen, besides their quality workmanship, was that they showed up on time and put in a full days work. No missing days, no half days, no excuses, just good work and efficient use of time. We would hire Stony Mountain again, and are happy to recommend them to our neighbors.
Good quality work. On time and they cleaned up after they were done.
Quality work and product.
