I hired United Capital Construction to renovate my bathroom. It was a smaller job to replace a tub with a modern shower, including custom tile work on the walls and floor. Larger companies would not even consider the project (since it was not the entire bathroom at a $20K price point), and two other companies quoted me much higher costs ($15K) and didn't make me feel as comfortable hiring them as I did with UCC. Daniel was clearly the most professional and approachable of them all, and it was easy to choose his company after meeting him and talking about what I wanted done. The initial quote for labor and construction material costs was detailed and clear, and I paid for my own finished materials and waterproofing supplies from Mosaic Tile (UCC offers something unique in that you choose your price points and designs, instead of being limited to whatever options the big contractors have in stock or get deals on). He did not start out with some ridiculously high estimate and then give "discounts" like some other guys tried to do, and there were absolutely no surprises when it came to the final total (which ended up being a little under $10K for labor and all materials + $1,150 for a frameless glass door and installation by an outside vendor). I appreciated how straightforward Daniel was with everything, no games and no haggling. The members of his team were on time daily and worked long full days diligently, they were very polite and friendly and tried to keep the noise down while I worked from home in the main room. Different individuals specialized in various tasks, from demo to plumbing, wall/floor prep and waterproofing, tile and grout, electrical, paint, fixtures, and finishing touches. Daniel's communication and responsiveness were quite impressive, especially considering past experiences with other contractors. The entire project went very smoothly from start to finish. One minor tile issue was promptly fixed to perfection the following day, no questions asked. The workers constantly removed debris and left the work area tidy each evening. The team and Daniel made sure I was satisfied with their work each day, and at completion of the project. Karmen back in the office was also great with responding to emails and taking of what needed to get done behind the scenes each step of the way before the project began. This is a family owned small business that I gladly support and recommend, and would definitely hire them again for future projects without hesitation. We hired United Capital Construction to remodel a master bath and add three rooms (home theater, basement bath, and bedroom) in my partially finished basement. I received four quotes from other vendors, but we felt the flexibility, selecting our custom materials, and designing touches would work best for our project. The quotes were well documented, the statement of work was clear, and I felt it was very competitively priced. Also, Daniel was the only person to recommend adding a bedroom in the basement area. Adding a bedroom included cutting a 42" window in concrete, pulling permits, inspections, etc. It would add significant value to our home and provide space for our growing family. Great vision and terrific idea! We met with Daniel and shopped at some recommended vendors to design ideas and pick out materials and chat about our design touches and vision. I sourced materials from online vendors and big box stores (using my military discount). Still, I chose to use the UCC recommended vendors for tiles, cabinets, countertop, shower glass, and flooring. The recommended vendors provided a very nice selection, materials, and value. The project kicked off on-time as scheduled once materials arrived and were staged. Daniel's Uncle Alex was our primary coordinator and builder. Alex is a great person and became a trusted advisor. Daily he made our ideals and vision a reality. He took the time to answer my questions throughout the process and made recommendations from his vast experience. Daniel was always a phone call or text away to help manage the project. Daniel would come by often to evaluate the project and check-in on the work. He always spent time with us and treated us like we were his only customer. The project was significantly delayed because of the Loudoun County Inspections. Daniel updated us as we eagerly waited to restart the construction. After the 3rd week of delays, we requested to shift the efforts to our Master Bath remodel. We had initially planned to start the master bath after the basement. Daniel moved the crew to complete the master bath, but we had a minimal time window that worked best for our family. Alex and the crew worked hard and over the weekends to get the Master Bath functional as quickly as possible. As they completed the master bath, the inspectors were finally ready for the basement pre-drywall inspection. All permits and inspections were granted, and the rest of the project went quickly. The crew had access to our home 8-6 daily and finished all of our projects, punch list items, and clean-up. Start to finish; it was three months with a three-week stoppage. Of course, we made some changes; there were some communication issues and minor challenges along the way, but that is expected. We worked through them as Partners. We are delighted with the work, effort, coordination, and we highly recommend United Capital Construction to our friends and family. I will call and hire them in the future.

Hiring United Capital Construction was a great experience. They would always answer my calls or respond to my emails of many questions immediately, their prices were very reasonable (best that I found), and the quality of their work was amazing. UCC remodeled my master bathroom and installed kitchen backsplash for me, there was a time when the crew noticed a slight blemish to their work that I hadn't even noticed and they had someone come back out to redo that small patch of tile. I couldn't recommend them more.

Through the basement bathroom project, which included making the room larger, I got to know the owner, Daniel Martinez, quite well. He stepped me through the process and advised me on certain options relative to marble, countertop, sink, shower and faucets, shower glass door, and storage towers. I also got a heated floor and that was a recommendation Daniel made since it was on concrete in the basement. It worked out perfectly. The whole United Capital Construction team was helpful and expert at what they do. The day-to-day manager was Alex Martinez, who was adept at explaining each process and stayed late sometimes to get necessary work completed on time. The crew always left each day by cleaning the area they worked on. Santos is one of the best marble installers I have worked with. Just expert at what he does. Gerson, Alex's assistant and a jack-of-all trade worker, was adept at many different jobs, with a pleasant personality. Amilkar did the painting portions of the project exactly the way I desired, with suggestions along the way. Marvin the accountant answered questions quickly whenever I had them and needed additional receipts. Bottom line: United Capital Construction is a top-notch firm who delivered what I wanted, when I wanted it and made changes I desired as the project proceeded. The best thing I can say is owner Daniel Martinez was there if I had any questions, with suggestions on particular designs, etc. And Daniel went out of his way to come back to my house to check on certain things I needed. The few glitches we had in the project were always met with successful conclusions... and that is the mark of a good company. I like the firm and workers so much that I hired them to do THREE other bathrooms in my house, including a project currently underway, which is my dream master bath.

I am extremely satisfied with the workmanship, scheduling and completion of this project. The company has advised that it would take two weeks to complete the job and they did so in the time frame as well as did an excellent job at providing excellent workmanship. I have a bathroom that is showroom worthy. Staff was extremely knowledgeable and the work was accomplished in the cleanest environment. our bedroom walls and flooring were all covered and protected from dust and dirt. They cleaned up on a daily basis after the workday was done. I would highly recommend their services and will use them again for any home improvement. I definitely feel they deserve the five star.
