Reviews
Write a ReviewI would like to save someone else from going through the same experience. I finally have the time to write this so please take the time to read through because this is 100% verifiable. Keystone Home Pros rents their office from the company next door which is where I work so I checked them out and thought as a single woman it is easy enough to walk next door to expedite or inquire while my project was in process. I also checked out all the reviews I could find on the internet. Later I realized that most of the good reviews were from employees and family. I also noticed even now that when there is a bad review the generic response from Keystone is that they can't find the person who did the review in their records so it must be a fake review. I contracted this business to build a garage in Tomball on our property. I was also going to have other renovations to do if the garage worked out. Leonard the owner presented himself as an upstanding member of the community and the Chamber of Commerce for Tomball and as he was developing a quote for the work asked me not to ask him to take short cuts or anything out of code. I assured him that it was in my best interest for this investment for everything to be done to code. We signed a contract in May of 2021 and the work to build this 15'x 15' garage was not completed until June 2022, and I have enough space to detail the nightmare that lasted over one year. The slab was poured in late July of 2021 and the City of Tomball shut the job down on 8/20/21 for guess what? No permits were obtained for this project before starting. The City of Tomball can verify this. John McGowan, Donald Flippo or Cindy Kell the inspector. The garage was partially framed. I kept in touch with the city for updates because Keystone was not responding with a plan but constantly complaining about the city's stringent requirements. They also accused my neighbor of calling the city about the construction. It wasn't until November that an engineer hired by Keystone contacted me that he would working on drawings and plans for my project. The permit was finally approved in January 2022. They were ready to resume work in March 2022 but then I spent that month arguing with them that they needed to re-frame since the untreated lumber had been out in the weather for 9 months and there were signs of rot and splitting. I was paying for new, and I wanted new! They finally agreed to replace most of the lumber. Work started in April 2022 and was finally complete in late June 2022. Since the start of this project there were so many incidents of mistakes, lack of professionalism and communication. At the beginning of this project, we asked Keystone to notify us when there would be workers on our property so one of us could plan to work from home and they never would give us that courtesy. Workers would show up unannounced access our backyard then leave without knocking on our door to let us know their purpose then leave the gates open when we had dogs in our backyard. Who wants random people on their property while they are at work when there is no supervision from Keystone. The workers including the engineer would complain about Leonard's shady business practices and not getting paid. The workers were rarely supervised by a Keystone employee. The workers dumped metal panels just inside our back gate that killed the grass and prevented us from getting our RV out or driving the lawnmower from the back yard to the front yard. After many calls and emails to Keystone to move these panels to the slab they sent someone to stack these heavy metal panels against our fence! After many more emails they finally moved the panels to the concrete slab. there was also an occasion where Keystone workers parked a 1- ton panel truck for trash in our driveway and wouldn't come and pick it up for two weeks.
They were kind had great prices and expertise.
Thanks so much for the kind words!
Please stay away from this company. They are scams.
Do not hire this company Check the complaints on the BBB to get an idea of the company and their ethics. The BBB revoked its good standing due to the workmanship and how they deal with consumers. Keystone was contracted to build an outdoor Kitchen, my husband signed the agreement and we gave Greg the info needed for HOA approval. After a month of back and forth with slow to no responses we canceled the project. We were told that we would not be charged until work was done but we could not even get the HOA renderings and drawings needed for approval yet Keystone charged me a $10,593.00 cancellation fee for 50% of the agreement my husband signed. The agreement does not state this fee and we were unaware of it, I used a finance company keystone uses and they allowed them to charge this amount to my account. My husband who signed the agreement is not on my account and they used every excuse to justify the charge and the finance company has allowed this to happen. We never told Keystone we were waiting on HOA approval because we needed them to give us the documents, we never agreed to the design so they could not have purchased anything for us, and we never got anything from them except a stock drawing that did not reflect what we wanted. I am now fighting the bank and because of their affiliation with the company they keep stating I signed a contract that does not have my signature on it and I am the only one on the account. Beware of the good reviews there are a lot of bad ones online.
Keystone Homepros are a menace. Beware. Very poor construction practices and Leonard Courtwright has never been acquainted with the truth.
We love our new cabinets that Keystone installed and thankful for Greg's help along the way!
We added a new room addition as well as a new patio door to the back of our home and are beyond pleased with the speed at which the team moved and the results of the new addition.
We are beyond happy with the results of the project and enjoy having breakfast in our newly renovated kitchen that Grace and Leonard helped us with. They have a great team of people that are able to successfully bring dreams to reality!
Keystone did a wonderful job on our windows and siding and made it as easy and painless as possible for us by cleaning up daily and ensuring we were kept in the loop on all aspects of our project.
Good work and good price!
