AJ's Seal Coating

AJ's crew did a great job on my driveway! It is an older driveway that needed cracks repaired. When AJ came by to give me an estimate he assured me that he could greatly improve its appearance, and he did just that! The work was done 3 days after the estimate. It is so refreshing to meet someone who takes pride in the quality of his work and who values his customers. AJ's customer service is top rate!

Hired AJ in April to repair cracks and seal my driveway. He came and an estimate of 400.00 which I agreed. He said it would look really good when he finished. I usually only pay about 200.00 each year for the same work, but AJ convinced me that he would do a great job. He and his girlfriend came a week later and did the job. When I saw the finished product I was shocked, it was a mess clumps of tire and exposed cracks. Just bad work. AJ apologized and said he would come back and redo it. I waited two weeks and called him and left a message, but never heard back. I waited a few more days and finally got him by phone, he said he would come down in a few weeks, but needed my address. I thought that odd, him needing my address after being at my home two times prior. I sent my address. Two weeks later I called him again. He said I was too late sending address as he had already been in the area and didn't know when he would be back. I waited weeks, sent him a text asking him what was going on. Never heard back. I called a week or two later and he said that he would be down and fix it but needed my address again. The last time I spike with him I asked him plain out, just tell me if you are coming or not because I don't think you are. That you took my 400.00 and walked. He said he would be back...not heard nothing from him. I am getting legal advice and please understand I am not causing trouble as I have photos that I can share.

AJ is an extremely nice gentleman and responsive. After being frustrated with two other well known pavers that ignored my repeated calls since February, I gave up and called two other smaller paving companies. Each responded timely with a quote. I did my research and after considering the 80+ very good reviews on AJ, I hired him to do the job. It was a good choice! AJ was prompt in responding and from first quote to finished job was less than 2 weeks. His crew were on time, did a great job, cleaned up nicely and I’m very pleased. I will gladly recommend AJ and will re-use his services again. Oh...NOTE to anyone who may have an outdoor cat/dog; keep them restrained from walking on the wet seal coat. It’s not only not good for them but leaves little “paw prints” on a nice fresh concrete job!! Fortunately, I cleaned it up quick b/4 it dried.

To my surprise, I am very disappointed in the work that was done and feel that I was subjected to deception by the contractor at the time he gave me the estimate for the project. AJ showed me a brochure produced by Sealmaster. Coal Tar Pavement Sealer, and told me that my asphalt would look like the picture in the brochure once he finished the job. Of course, I was taken by the finished look in the brochure and hired him for the job. He did the job on Tuesday, June 5, 2018. No traffic was on the asphalt until Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 6:30pm when I went outside to look at his work. Again, I was disappointed! Not only did it not look like what he had showed me in the brochure, it crumbled when I closed my gate, they spray the tar on my grass in various places in the yard, dirt and grass spots are still seen and they made a mess while blowing the debris on both my front and back porches and didn't bother to clean either. They actually tracked the tar on my front porch and left their foot prints on the concrete. Needless to say, I am very disappointed in the outcome of my project and the work that was done. I intend to contact Sealmaster to see if they have any affiliation with AJ permitting him to use their promotional materials to solicit contracts. Either way, my asphalt looked nothing like the picture and I think I was deceived by AJ promoting the look of the brochure. His work is nowhere near what he pointed out in the picture. I have pictures to support the work he done to my drive and patio. I would not recommend him.

AJ was eaay to work with. Arrived on and date scheduled. He filled in cracks with box and not just a filler, two coats for sealing and a GREAT price :) I will use him agaim and would recommened him to others.

Don't hire this company. He was in a rush to get out of here even when I questioned the fact that he was not squeegeeing the sealant into the pours of the asphalt.
