Buyer beware! Bobby came by and gave me an estimate for $3748.00. I didn't hear from him for two weeks. Next thing I know B&J Pools came onto my property into my back yard unannounced with a new pool liner and installed it. All looked good until I filled the pool with water costing $700.00; two days later the water level dropped down to 8 ft, then 3 ft the next day. Bobby claims the steps are to blame for the leak in the new liner. I'm frustrated. I spent $4600.00 and still don't have a pool.

Response from Company:

We told Norman that the step needed to be replaced as soon as we removed the liner before we installed the new one and Norman did know we were coming to do the work we were contracted to do. We can not stand good for old products that are worn out and in need of replacement. B and J pools did exactly what we were paid to do and to find out the liner was replaced the year before with the same issues so in reality Norman already knew the steps were in need of replacing.

I had Bobby come out to give us an estimate for a pool in the fall of 2017. At that time we had our home in Buford on the market and felt that once it sold we would have the funds to put in the pool. So I gave Bobby a deposit of $1,000 in October of 2017. Unfortunately we did not sell and decided to rent our home in Buford. Then I had my knee replacement surgery which depleated our pool funds. I called Bobby in March 2018 after not hearing from him since our October 2017 meeting. I explained to him our situation and that we would not be able to install a pool this year. He said he understood and would send us our deposit back....BUT that never happened from March 2018 til now June 2018 I have not received my $1,000.00 deposit. I have called him and every time he has said he would put it in the mail. Finally in May of 2018 I wrote him a letter along with a copy of my cashed deposit check and the contract I signed which had nothing saying that I would forfeit my deposit if unable to install the pool. This is not an honorable way to treat people. Especially since I was honest and gave him plenty of time to return my deposit. I would not refer B & J Pools to anyone of my friends here I. Alabama!

Response from Company:

When we write a contract and order pool and then the customer backs out of contact after months of contact and we return goods there is a restocking fee so we could not return down payment it's simple as that .

we had him install an inground pool liner and the work done was good and everything looks good but my wife mistakenly over paid them and Bobby has been promising for four months to return our money but nothing has happened. he gets to the point that he stops answering our calls and his voice mail is full, so you can't leave a message. just be very careful this is the type company and person you will be dealing with; after several months we finally received our refund after we believe he was served a small claims court action.

Response from Company:

Money was refunded in a timely manner and the customer is enjoying their pool.
