I first used Clark Hardwood nearly a decade ago to extend an existing wood floor on my ground level. I had no major issues with the work. Yes, I can point to multiple places in the floor where there are noticeable gaps. You should not expect fine craftsmanship, but the project was completed on-time and communication was good throughout. A few years ago, I hired Clark Hardwood to do a very small job in a bathroom (20 square feet repair). Again no major issues. In Summer 2018, I had Warren provide a bid to replace all of the carpet in our upstairs level. At the time he was booked out until September, which lined up with the due date for our child. I requested that he put on us on a cancellation list, and if nothing opened up, to schedule us at the beginning of the next year. In December 2018, Warren called and asked if we would be available to do the job the first week of January. Our in-laws were coming over from overseas to help take care of the baby and would be staying with us until they moved into an apartment. I called Warren back and left a voicemail asking if he would be able to fit us in some time after the 2nd week of February when I could be sure that my in-laws would be settled. After not receiving a response, I sent him an email. He did not respond to that, either. Over a month passed, and I assumed he was upset that we pushed the project out. However, in mid-February he called and asked if we were still in need of having a floor installed and could install at the end-of-the-month. He explained his wife was having health issues, so despite originally being upset by the lack of communication, I shrugged it off. This would be the start of a pattern. The day after they finished, my dog marred the uncured finish in one of the rooms. I called Warren, left a voice mail, and asked if there was anything that could be done to repair it (acknowledging that the issue was our fault). He never responded. I decided to live with the issue and again wrote off the poor communication to a family illness. A few months later, we started a kitchen remodel and wanted to have our downstairs refinished and repair a very small section where a wall was removed. He said he was booked until September, but could take care of the small patch job later that week on his way home from another job. He made the small repair, but did not apply a finish. Since the job was so small, he would just swing by again when he had leftover finish from another job because did not want to open a fresh container for a small spot. He called once while I was out of town. I noticed I had a missed call, but the voicemail ended up on my work phone system. I called him back within an hour, but again went straight to his voicemail. Weeks went by, and I never heard back. Eventually, I assumed he was not going to bother with it until coming out to refinish our entire ground floor in September. When I had not heard from him by the 2nd week of September, I called, left a voicemail, and asked if we could get an update on when he would be by to refinish the floor. When he did not respond more than a week later, I called again. Left another voice mail. When he did not respond to that, I called again and left another voice mail. When he did not respond to that, I sent an email. Made another call. Finally, the 2nd week of October, I called a final time and left another voicemail. I requested that he get back to me ASAP and reminded him of the previous communications that he ignored. Keep in mind by this point, I had already waited months for him to start a job. No response. I cannot fathom why he would treat a repeat customer this way. Maybe he scheduled over me for more lucrative jobs or is somehow blaming me for not getting paid for the patch job he never finished. I will never know because he cannot be bothered to answer a phone call, follow up on to a voicemail, or reply to an email.

Warren and crew did a great job refinishing our builder grade hardwood. The refinish was very little dust and mess. They worked with us on selecting a good/true color for the new stain. Quality of the sanding, staining and finish coat are all very good. The biggest reason we went with Clark Hardwood was because the owner is doing the work, not a crew of workers with no vested interest in doing a good job. Well done!

Warren and his sons were extremely professional and accommodating. After providing us with an estimate Warren went out of his way to resurface and repair our hardwood floors knowing we were under a strict timeline in order to put our house on the market. The work was done on time and the floors are beautiful.

Warren and his son were very professional and astute. The process was well explained, there was barely any dust and Warren made a correction to the floorboard. The estimate was spot on and I will call them anytime I need to have my floors refinished. Great quality of work, fair price and no mess! Can't beat that!

Both Warren and Nick were very professional and experienced. The measurement was accurate and the price was more than fair. Nick sanded the floor to bare wood, stained, buffed and put a finish coat on it. He also removed a piece of side molding and refinished it to match the new stain. The floor looks brand new. We are very impressed with this company and will recommend them to our friends.

After a leak in the kitchen, we had the entire 1st floor refinished to advoid a noticable difference in the flooring. The floors were done in Nov 09 by Clark Hardwood FLooring. Within months we had cracks reappearing in the flooring (even though Clark tested the wood and said it was dry enough to do the work). Clark redid part of the kitchen floor in Nov 2010. The color did not match. He said is was due to age. Now 18 months later it still does not match and cracks have reappeared. I used wood filler to fill the cracks and some stain left from '09. That stained matched while what was put down in '10 does not. Call not returned.
