Reviews
Write a ReviewI own an 90-year old historic colonial high school turned into a bed & breakfast. The windows were neglected over the past 20-30 years and in serious demand of work. Modern day window contractors were not going to understand this job. It's very difficult to find a contractor that will come through on a promise and has the skill to do as they boast. The day that Grady stepped into my 90 year-old home that needed historic window restoration, he became a part of the house. He knew exactly what had to be done. More importantly, he understood my expectations. These windows needed special attention. There was a level of detail required that not any expert would be able to handle. Grady took the time to learn their needs and stayed on the job until it was to my satisfaction. He even reworked an entire window just because I didn't like the way that it looked. Grady truly showed expertise with his ability to work on such a delicate job and even taught me a few things about historic window repair. He replaced broken antique glass with one just as aged and just as historic. If a window had to be completely rebuilt beyond his solid estimate, he did it without any complications to my budget. My windows are not only restored, but they are literally brought back from the past. Any enthusiast will appreciate the lint-seed oil, putty, and antique glass that was all restored to perfection. It was a pleasure having Grady work with us. He even stayed in the house at times to make sure he was available for the job. In fact, we're going to rename the room in which he stayed to "Grady's Den". Thank for bringing character and craftsmanship to my investment!
windows, were 148 years old, rebuilt entire frames took inside workings and also rebuilt, replaced old ropes reglazed all mullons with a, linseed oil putty mix 1 coat oil primer two coats oil finish. 65 windows were done.
He did an excellent job with a shutter that was in very poor condition. I had contacted many people regarding the shutter and either found no help or I was given the run around. George did exactly what he said he would and kept every promise regarding the time it would take to do the job. I could not have been more pleased with the quality of the work. You cannot even tell there was ever anything wrong with the shutter or where the repairs were made. His work is Grade A.
shutter, at time of repair was 173 years old made a special mix.of the existing rotted wood and two ploymears epox system and rebuilt, were needed hand grained to match wood, grain of shutter
Recent experiences in finding and engaging contractors have not been good. George Grady is the exception. The job was fairly significant - a large portion of plaster with lath and mortar behind it was ruined due to a leak. George's price was fair, he showed up when he said he would - which meant several visits over a few weeks, did what he said he would, kept everything clean and the result was top-notch. On top of that he didn't request any compensation until 1/2 way done and then upon completion. As a result, I've asked George Grady to handle other projects for me.
Mr. Grady went above and beyond my expectations. He did the work that was asked to do and even repaired my side walk! He then checked on the work a year later to make sure the quality held up.
Grady provided service above and beyond expectations. I look forward to using his services again in the future.
Grady's Construction are professional. They are very dependable.
Mr.Grady Rehabilitated a neglected 80 yr old apartment building outside Binghamton NY which had serious water damage to the plaster work. The results are amazing. I would highly recommend him.
Mr. Grady was one of the most professional, friendly, and useful contractors with whom I have ever had the pleasure to work. He exceeded my expectations in every category. This man is more than a simple plaster contractor - he is an artist who is more than fair to his customer. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking to have a job done fairly, promptly, and completely.
