The finished work was left messy. There was concrete splashed on large portions of my fence and walls and not cleaned.

The facts: To complete this job we needed one concrete truck. The entire project cost $3,750 and the concrete truck of $1,200 was included in the quote. It took two weeks from start to finish but there were some rainy days that prolonged the project. If you are considering to hire JEM Concrete & Pavers ask for references and samples of their work. I doubt they will give you ours. There is a very little information about this contractor online other than his website and two reviews. We hope this will help you to make a decision so you donâ t have to rely on his word alone . . . like we did which turned out to be a huge mistake. What we witnessed and experienced was something every homeowner fears and hopes to avoid. Please read this and be forewarned that you are likely to receive a defective final product and experience a bad customer service. - This contractor showed up to our house without having the necessary tools to do the job (we were asked for a wheelbarrow, a shovel, buckets, a molding form to name a few) -No attention was given to smoothing, edging, and finishing the corners and sides where surfaces meet -The frames for concrete pouring were misaligned resulting in our steps ending up crooked and not straight -Almost all flat surfaces are pooling water so no attention was given to sloping for water drainage -There are gaping holes of missing concrete -No rebar was used at any point for our porch steps that are 15 feet long by 2 feet wide each,!our back stoop which is 4 ft x 6 ft or the driveway which is made of slabs of 2 ft x 3 ft. -The day of the pour was one chaotic scene. The contractor showed up after the concrete was poured with rebar he intended to put in but since he was late he convinced us they were not needed. The one worker that was here was scrambling to dig a makeshift trench for the concrete slab for the ground level step of the porch. Needless to say, there was no time for him to dig for the proper width/depth and definitely no time to make the wooden frame, so the concrete was just dumped on top of the soil into the shallow hole. -During and after the pour the surfaces and steps were not sloped, edged or shaped for clean lines and corners. The result? . . . . pooling water everywhere, crooked lines, rough surfaces, patched up holes, and corner cracks and gaps. Sweeping water off our newly finished concrete steps and stoop is now a daily chore we did not sign up for. We put our trust into JEM Concrete and Pavers but they completely failed us. They delivered an inferior final product, their work process is unprofessional and low budget leaving you with a sense that your project is just a side job that is less of a priority and doesnâ t need to be done that well. Leave questions and comments and we will be happy to answer.

My husband and I were very happy with the jobs that he has done for us! He has done more than one concrete job. We get a lot of favorable comments and inquiries from people that pass by. They like what they see!
