They quoted me a price, and the day of the move forced me under duress to sign a new contract, knowing I had to be out that day. They tried to charge me 8,000 MORE than I had been quoted. Said I had more stuff and it weighed much more than I had estimated. ( turns out it was 140 pounds more. The size of an average adult person. Ok, so they thought 8,000 more for 140 pounds? I was able to talk them down to 1000 more than quoted, but when things came off the truck boxes were squashed and even plastic boxes with lids were cracked and broken. My brand new 50-inch tv was on the bottom of many heavy boxes. I have been unable to see what is broken cause EVERYTHING went into storage as I am waiting for a ground floor apartment to open up in the new state I am in ( California to Missouri) so I cannot access the damage. I was incredibly traumatized by these people, who will try very hard to screw you over especially if you are a single mom moving across the country. You would do better renting a Uhaul.

Iâ ve used allied before and havenâ t had issues. They are only as good as their local service providers. Their local provider in North Vermont is Chase Moving. Chase had an untrained packing team. They damaged product. They processed the extra insurance I paid for incorrectly. When I then tried to file a claim on those damages, it took me weeks to straighten it all out. I feel that I only got it resolved because I kept copies of all my signed/submitted documents. I think Allied as a whole is fine. You must research the actual local providers being used.

Great moving experience with Ward North American. Very efficient and friendly service at both ends of our move. Would use them again!

The service was just fine. Everything was done on time. My main problem was that I had a lot of items to break. I suppose they would blame my packing but some things that were broken or damaged were not things I packed. My items were packed on a truck carefully but delivered in a different truck. I can only imagine that things were thrown carelessly from one truck to another judging by the condition of some of the boxes that were crushed and furniture that was mildly damaged.

Every portion of the move is contracted out: the guy that comes to do home survey and estimate, movers that load the truck, the driver, the movers that unload the truck. These are all different entities, not a single cohesive company. There is no central coordination or continuity in service. It was the cheapest quote we received and it showed when the job was done. The surveyor was nice when at the home and helpful, but not available to take my calls or answer questions after that. The move coordinator was short, indifferent and rude with a smile. I would avoid this company if possible.
