They did not do the actual work that was agreed on. They did sub par quality and actually messed up our windows, roof, and fireplaces with SLOPPY caulking work as a patch job instead of doing the job correctly. The caulking did not even match our house colors. We fired them the first day. They made us wait a week to start the job, showed up late, and left after two hours. I have pictures and would love to submit them.

    Response from Company:

Mr. & Mrs. [Consumer name withheld at their request] I am truly sorry you are unhappy. But please lets tell the entire story, truthfully. I met with you and your wife for our scheduled appointment for the estimate, on time. I told you what I thought needed to be done and that I would email you a quote that evening, which I did. Mrs. Broyles called me back about 2 weeks later and informed me that you would like me to schedule the repairs. I told here that I would call her back when I was in the office and had the repair schedule in front of me. I called back and told her the date and time I could schedule the repair and she agreed. I did not make you wait, I told you when we could do it. I did not force you to wait. My crew and I showed up 15 minutes early on the day I told you we would be there. In our conversation you said "if you see anything else that needs to be done just do it, with in reason) We found that the silicone around some second story windows was deteriorated or missing, we also found that the mortar between the stone on the chimney and wall was falling out. So we used an exterior grade silicon around the windows and where the mortar was missing in order to stop water intrusion into the home. Yes, the silicon is grey, the same color as the existing silicon that was already all over the wall from a previous repair. Yes the windows are white, but the mortar around them is grey. The silicon is also paintable. My crew only finished a portion of the repairs due to a misunderstanding between them and I. As soon as I found out they did not finish I called Mr. [Consumer name withheld at their request] to inform them of the fact and that we would be back the next day to finish. At this point Mr.[Consumer name withheld at their request] stated he thought it should take 3-4 days to complete the repair, even though he and I never discussed how long it would take. He said that he did not think the repair was extensive enough and asked that I just send him and invoice for the work completed and he would send a check. I am not sure you can consider this "firing" but that is beside the point. I sent him an email that evening stating that I was not going to send him a bill because he was unhappy and we did not finish the job. He replied insisting that I did nothing wrong and to send him an invoice and he would pay it. So based on that email I sent an invoice for a discounted amount, I have yet to receive a check nor do I expect to. I received and email from him yesterday with pictures of the silicon around the windows stating the windows were "ruined". I told him I disagreed that they were ruined, one of them was fogged up and broken before we even showed up. I apologized for him being unhappy and asked him what I could do to make it right. His response was "I won't be bothering you further" and now this poor review. Again I am sorry you are unhappy.

The work was completed as scheduled and very satisfactorily. Each workman was professional and polite. I would highly recommend Rocking J Construction and would use them in the future. Jay was very helpful and prompt in his contacts, and he did exactly as he agreed to in our contract. A very pleasant experience.
