Eduardo showed me pictures of high quality work that he had completed before. He bid very competitively for the project, which involved painting cabinets, installing backslash and a new undermount kitchen sink. Within days after starting work, he started complaining that he was not making any money on the project. The paint work was poorly done. It lacked proper finish and the painter had sprayed cabinet paint on the adjoining walls. Additionally, I paid him retail price of 10 gallons of paint. When I asked for receipt, he kept deferring it. Eventually, I called the paint shop and learnt the truth. He had only bought 6 gallons. Eduardo blamed it on his painter and apparently fired him. The backsplash surface was not even in one area because he did not replace the drywall behind it. But, in order to fix it, I would have to reorder expensive tiles, which took 15 days to arrive. I chose to go with the imperfect installation. I also paid his (new) painter on top of the contract job to fix the paint overspray on the wall and improve the finish of the original cabinet paint, on top of the extra money I paid for the paint he never purchased. Now, a month later, the sink installation has developed a leak and he wants me to pay for the plumber to come and take a look at it. So, despite his competitive bid, the overall expense has gone up substantially. Add to that the cost of inconvenience and delays in completion.

Response from Company:

Raj (consumer name withheld per their request) we are sorry that after a month we completed the project you just call me to say that the sink has a leaking ;as I told him in ours chat I was unable to go and see what happen with the sink in this moment and I offer him to send another plumber instead just if it was an emergency but it looks he got upset and couldn't wait . You forgot to say that I pay to my new painter to repaint all the cabinets and I pay for the paint too, on top of that I left one more gallon of paint in your garage ,I was happy to pay for touching up the wall that was paint over and that was what I did but he decide to paint all kitchen completely?? ( Remember apart of all you where thinking to paint the kitchen anyway as he ask me to remove a curtain from the window, repair the wall and touch up the wall, you knew the color will looks different as I told you so he will end painting all kitchen he said ? we did it all for free ) I also pay for removing an enormous curtain at very high in the living room ,repair the wall and touch up, we did it all for free ,I help him picking up materials from the shop on my own expenses ,I did all for free ,I when to Homedipot to pick up a long stepladder for free... the last day before we leave the house I ask several time ,are you happy? can we go now? he say yes,now everything is good,he was laughing ... ,he was very happy and me too because we finish a project with a very difficult customer but we didn't leave the house until he was content. ?. .Hope you can find the way to laugh a bit more.

They did the backsplash of my kitchen and restroom. It looks very good. Only reason why I gave 4 stars is b/c they were rushing towards the end to finish. It was really late about 11pm. They been working all day since the morning. They didnt clean up very well. I didn't mind it much b/c it was late and they have been working hard. They worked on it for 3 days. I think they needed a 4th day so they could finish and clean up right but they had another job the next day. I would hire again though. Minus the clean up, their job is great.

I hired him to tile a tub enclosure with a window in it. At first he seemed to really want to do a good job. The tile appeared to be done well but I could not put water on it until the grout was dry. Nevertheless, I paid him all I owed him. Big mistake! I had planned to paint the walls myself, but he offered to paint them for a reasonable fee so I agreed. They painter did an awful job. He did not remove the switch plates, towel bars, or light fixtures. He taped some of them, and slopped paint on others. The ones that were taped show the previous color all around them after the tape was removed. Many places on the wall still show the previous color. Clearly some areas got 2 coats of paint and others, only 1 coat. He also installed grout all around my brand new cabinets without discussing with me. I had no idea he was going to do this. No grout was wanted or needed as I simply had not yet had time to install the toe kick. He slopped grout all over the baseboards in the process. After the grout dried in the shower and I was able to run water, I noticed that the window sill was not sloped properly and the water would sit. I got up there to investigate and found a large gap in the grout which allowed all the water that could not drain off the sill to slowly drip into the wall cavity. When I contacted him, he explained that he was on another project far away. So I asked him to just let me know when he could come over. After that, he stalled and would sometimes set a time to come out and then not show up. Finally he texted me late one night and said someone would be over at 8am the next morning. This person arrived late and was not the one who originally did the tile. He spoke no English and had no idea what he was supposed to do. But I cannot speak Spanish so it was a waste of time. I called the contractor and he did not answer. I tried again to talk to the workman and he just kept saying, "I don't speak English". I finally sent him away. The contractor later texted me blaming me for not "showing the man with hand motions" what he was supposed to do. I feel this is totally unreasonable after someone has been paid in full to do a job. Now I cannot get a call returned. Very disappointing

Response from Company:

She is lovely lady ,just a builder let her down with the ceramic tiles installed wrong , I really did my best to help her to get this project right back .I believe we install a five star ceramic tile installation but she was a bit sensitive for the previous builders ,I sent another day my best tiler man to the property to go with her around and to do all the work that have to be done , I was in a meeting when she call me to say that she need to talk to me but didn't give me time to call her back my guy call me later and told me she said to him good bye !!! Dear Diane I am still happy to help you ,please give me a call to schedule a time to go around . Sincerely , Eduardo Socarras.
