The Grounds Guys of Jacksonville Beach & Oceanway

This was one of the worst experiences I have had as a homeowner. The sales guy stopped by to measure my project area which required 1.25 pallets of sod. He neglected to tell me that he can only order full pallets so the order was for 2 pallets of sod. I was promised the highest quality sod unlike what you will find at one of the box stores. When the sod was delivered, it was anemic at best. The 4 man crew was efficient in removing the old sod and installing the new sod. As I stood in my living room watching them finish up, I watched one of the guys toss about 12 pieces of sod into the discard pile. When I said that would only pay for what was actually installed, I was told that I was responsible for 2 full pallets. Well, after 3 months, there are still dead patches and the rest still has not blended with the surrounding grass. The owner came out and agreed that the product wasnt the best and to give it a month. After that, he would replace it free of charge. I have tried reaching out several times with no response. I will have to replace the sod for a 2nd time. Very disappointed.

Experience was exceptional. James reviewed the job and gave a fair price for material and labor to complete the job. The crew arrived when scheduled with sufficient manpower and proper tools to complete the task. I would highly recommend them to others.

James and his crew were very professional and did an amazing job on our yard. He cleared our yard, laid the sod down the same day and left no debris. It has been 3 months and the sod still looks amazing. We are very pleased with our yard and would recommend the Groundâ s Guys to anyone interested in getting sod installed.

Great customer service. In addition to installing sod found and fixed irrigation problems at no charge including parts. Sod looks great. Highly recommend them!

They did a good job prepping the job-site, good job laying the sod, but they did not roll it properly. Rolled it too fast and the sod didn't make good contact with the soil : 75 % of the sod died within a month , and another 10% died within another week . I am truly disappointed in looking at dead, brown sod . A lot of money, time, effort and watering for nothing . Maybe, I should have put down top-soil before having the sod installed, that is the only factor other than it not being rolled propertly , that may have contributed to not rooting into the soil . I have since top-dressed it with topsoil to improve soil composition , a wait and see if it helps .

They took their time to get rid of the old grass and weeds. Killed the grass and weeds a week prior to install. Tilled up the ground prior to install. The grass was cut for the first time today and my yard looks amazing!

They do what they say they are going to do. They show up to give a quote when they say they will and they show up to do the work when they say they as scheduled. Very professional.
