I got an estimate from AMR for electric work $5600 and I was told that there will be 10% deposit to proceed and rest of the money will be charged after work is done. I called them to proceed with the project and I was asked to pay 20% as deposit. I asked them why are they charging 20% when technician said 10% during his visit to provide an estimate. She said we always take 20% and they charged me 20% $1119 and $45 for the visit. My electrical work is depending on framing and township permits. One of the permit didnt go through due to some issue and we cant proceed with electrical work. I requested AMR to charge for paperwork and return rest of the money as there was no work done. They said they purchased materials and they cant refund the money and it is non refundable. I did not get any documents for cancellation policies. They provided only appointment cancellation or rescheduling. Township clearly said that how can they purchase the materials without getting permits as anything can Change before getting permits. I asked them that I can take the materials they purchased so that it wont be loss for them but they said they cant give the materials to customers. Be careful with your money when you work with this company. We paid $1160.00 for nothing and it is not a small amount.

Praveena, in life hardships occur. Sometimes customers have a change in life circumstance that prevents them from completing a project. Sometimes emergencies happen. However, this was completely not the case with your project. We first came out to give you a quote on 5/21 for your basement project. We left the quote with you, then we sent you a typed electronic version. The quote that we left with you (that you signed) had all our non-refundable deposit information clearly labeled. Our estimate on the bottom clearly had our deposit and cancellation policies listed for you. You accepted our quote. You asked me if the deposit amount could be 10% and I did tell you that our deposit is 20%. You also asked me for an additional discount on top of the 40% discount you have already received. I could not do that. We sent you a secure payment link with the exact amount, and you filled it out and accepted the amount days later. Everything was completely transparent. Your project required a permit to be filled out from the township. Not only that, but the township required stamped drawings to be done and underwritten by a third-party agency. Our plan reviewer requires 2 business days to get all this work done. Every detail needs to be listed on how the work will be completed and what wiring will be used and how it will be run. You had us rush these stamped plans after a holiday weekend because you had a 10 am appointment with the township the next day. All of which we have documented through email, phone calls and text messages. To tell us that we did no work is a complete inaccurate account of what happened. This is the reason that a deposit is taken! Not just for the hundreds of dollars in lights, outlets, and fixtures. All these individuals spent hours/days rushing to get all your documentation done. The reason you told us that you are canceling your project was because the framer that you decided to hire was unlicensed and was not able to provide you all the documentation that is needed to obtain a permit. We spoke to you and said that we can hold the same price until you find a licensed framer that you would like to complete the project. You refused to do so. You stated that all the licensed individuals were too expensive. In fact, you and your husband both spent 30 minutes simultaneously screaming at me on the phone. You even read back to me how our cancellation fee states that it is between 10-15% (which you were reading the version to me of the same day cancellation, not about non-refundable deposits). I then offered to reduce the deposit amount to 15% instead of 20%, not liking my answer you then threatened to write me a bad review if we didn't refund your project. I am very sorry you chose to cancel our contract. However, multiple options were given to you. We still must pay all the individuals that went into prepping to get everything ready for your project. There were no delays on our end. Your decision to cancel your contract is your own. Best Regards!

Very professional and helpful. My garbage disposal wasn't working I thought it was a bigger problem than what led on. Turns out it was the switch that I expected. I ended up changing it out myself to save some money. Overall it was a good experience. I would hire them again if needed. Definitely recommend.

As a home owner I am often surprised on how much projects cost, this project was no different. I was advised on every visit what the cost would be ongoing on this visit and the next. I have the same concerns that I had from other companies that have worked here, the trades donâ t clean up as well as I would like and I am left with the small pieces as the homeowner. I had recessed lighting done in the front and new outdoor outlets to use for our Christmas lights and everything looks really good now that this project is completed. In conclusion I am happy with the completed project and it was completely what my wife envisioned and I can say that AMR delivered what we asked for. As far as the cost and the cleanup I am sure that I will make more money and the cleanup will be done and it will be water under the bridge. Thanks to everyone that helped us make our home look as good as possible.
