DARS was engaged to assess and fix the clicking igniters on the stovetop burners. DARS fixed the problem (within 3 days). I can't say whether the $229 total repair cost was reasonable because I did not have a chance/time to obtain other estimates/bids. I was, however, surprised by the service call charge ($60) that I was required to pay on the 1st day because this charge amount was not mentioned on DARS Home Advisor bio or website. Although the $60 could be applied to the total repair cost, in the interest of transparency, I urge DARS to add this fact to its bio and website. I also found DARS a bit unresponsive when I tried following up with them regarding the timing of the repair. My biggest issue was the fact that the tech knew that in the process of repairing the stove, one of the burner knobs came loose...and he didn't point that out to us before he wrapped up the job. So we then had to contact him and go through a week long process of getting the knob replaced. DARS did replace the knob for free!. Another surprise was DARS refusal (after the 1st day assessment) to give an estimate of the labor portion of the repair, particularly given that clicking igniters are a common problem. Without a repair estimate, I was basically stuck with them (because I didn't want to forfeit the $60 service charge).

Outstanding Service. Youssef from DARS came on the appointed day, He called and said that he would be a little late coming because the project he was working on took a little longer than expected, whick we understood, you do not always know until you get into the repair how long it will take. He fixed our dishwasher, stove top and washer. He was very knowledgeable of the repairs he was doing. He was very nice and respectful. I would certainly hire their company again.

Outstanding service. Left message around 2:00 on Friday afternoon. Youssef called back within a minute. We did not have an emergency, but he suggested coming out between 5-8 that night. Replaced switch to garbage disposal, and got the ice maker dispensing ice again. All done within the window of time for a very reasonable price. He was prepared to replace disposal, had a new one in his truck just in case. Also a replacement hose for ice maker per my request, but that wasnÂ’t necessary either. But Youssef was prepared to get the job done in one shot and he did. When he was finished at our Ellicott City home, he was off to Mt. Airy to repair a washer. It was 7:30 on Friday night! But he felt this customer needed to get the wash done this weekend, and he wanted to make it possible. Unbelievable. HeÂ’s like a super hero! He can do it all. Polite. Prompt. Knowledgeable. Family man. This is his business. He makes sure the job is done right!!

The freezer compartment stopped working on our refrigerator. I tried to get an appointment through a major service repair company. The sooner appointment was 10 days out. Searched Home Advisor and found DARS. They were at house within 3 hours of my first call, with the needed part in the truck and had it repaired within an hour. I would give this company 6 stars if I could!
