Pat was very flexible to come on a Saturday to make sure our stove was fixed in time for a family dinner on Sunday. He did not charge extra for Saturday work either. Very efficient and did the job!

I needed a gas range installed ASAP. Others were booked out weeks and wanted $$$. Pat quickly responded to my call and managed to fit me in on his way home! Reasonable price, rockstar job, dinner was not late tonight. I will hire Pat again for sure. Oh, and he fixed the knob on my front door before leaving - to cool.

I had been having trouble with my furnace, where it would fire up and then shut down several times before going into a lock-out mode. Well, as luck would have it, on New Year's Eve, when it was a high temperature of -9 degrees outside, the furnace stopped staying lit long enough to produce any heat. I called around and got some advice on what to do and then priced out some services in case those remedies did not work. One place wanted $150 just to come out and then wanted to charge me time and a half because it was New Year's. The next day I tried changing the air filter and installing a new thermostat. As a single mother with a daughter who just started college (and not knowing how much a repair might cost), I did not have the kind of money readily available for a company to come out and service the furnace. Unfortunately, those cheaper remedies did not work and I was finally facing the fact that I needed someone come out and fix the issue. We stayed warm by running electric heaters while I started trying to find someone who would be affordable. I came across Dun Rite Construction on Home Advisor, and after reading their reviews, I decided to call them. When Pat answered and I explained the situation to him, he told me that it would be $40 for him to come out (so much cheaper than what I had been quoted by other companies)! He also asked me to send him a picture of my furnace and the model number so that he could further diagnose the problem. I know nothing about furnaces and he patiently walked me through taking off the front panel to get to the sticker with the model number. Once I sent him the picture, he called me back and said that the issue was a flame sensor and that he actually had the part in stock. Ok....now it was time to talk price. When I asked him how much it was going to cost, he gave me a price that was only a fraction of what the other guys were charging for just showing up. He came the next day and installed the sensor while my daughter was at home and I was at work. On top of that, he reinstalled my old thermostat because there was nothing wrong with it, and the one that I had purchased was cheap and known for having problems. My daughter felt very comfortable with him in the house and he finished everything in less than an hour. When it was all said and done, his final price was even $20 cheaper than what he had quoted me. I had told my daughter to tip him when she paid him, but he gave her the extra money back!!! During this frigid time, when heat is a definite necessity, he could have taken advantage of the situation and my lack of knowledge. But you know what? Pat was a real stand-up and honest person and he did great work, even going above and beyond what we had discussed and not charging me for it. I will definitely be calling him the next time I have an HVAC emergency, or when I need contracting work done. My motto is "Call Pat and that's that"!!! Signed...Warm, Happy and Not Broke!!!

Thanks to Pat my oven is working nicely. He made sure to fit me in before Christmas by getting the part needed and coming out to repair it within 3 days of my initial call. I will be especially thankful for his service on Christmas morning. Thank you Pat.

Very responsive on the phone. Ordered part before he came out to the house. Even came on a Saturday to repair the dishwasher. He had trouble with the dishwasher and charged more on the spot for it. Didn't get a receipt despite multiple texts to send it to email as he told my husband he would do. Dishwasher is fixed, but now the door is harder to open. Main reason for lower stars is profanity was used multiple times. My young children were around to hear it.

I called Pat on an emergency visit. I was schedule to close on my home in less than 24 hours before moving to Paris and my washing machine quit on me. With loads of laundry to finish and a final buyer walk-through hours away I didn't have time to waste. Pat rescheduled 2 existing appointments already slated for that day to help with my emergency. In prep, he questioned me on the phone to narrow down the issue and even came prepared with the replacement part. Of course, the problem turned out to be something quicker and easier to fix. The machine was up and running in less than an hour, loads finished and I'm flying off to Paris. What astonished me most about's Pat's work was his service. I could tell he knew what he was doing by how he carefully inspected each part of the machine before diving in plus his knowledge of each working piece of the machine. You'd expect that from most professionals. To go the extra mile, when Pat discovered he didn't need the replacement part already purchased, he offered to return it for me. He easily could have suckered me into thinking that was the problem and slapped on an extra $300 for the part. In my ignorance, I would have paid that given the circumstances. Turns out, electrical parts are non-returnable. He called to update me, as I requested he does. Again, he stepped in taking fault for perhaps purchasing the part before we knew it was needed. I offered to chip in and eat half the cost. He declined saying he knows he'll need it for some other job down the line. I wouldn't hesitate to use Dun Rite again. It was a completely unplanned visit from a total stranger. It could not have been more pleasant, more professional and more honest.

I contacted Pat to get my refrigerator repaired two weeks ago. He promptly responded to my call and visited my home to fix the fridge. I was very impressed with his professionalism. He is knowledgeable in his work. He showed me everything what he was doing, which hardly "handyman" do. He was very patient in defrosting the fridge, which took four hours. Even after finishing the work he followed up with me in the evening and the next day to ensure that fridge was working properly. I highly recommend him!!!

Pat was very helpful in troubleshooting over the phone prior to the service call, to be more prepared for the visit with parts, etc., and ultimately saving us money on additional service calls to install simple parts. He also was able to provide same day service!
