Reviews
Write a ReviewShowed up on time; completed project under schedule; VERY conscientious about not tracking any dirt from crawlspace onto floor; took LOTS of before and after pictures to show/explain what was done as it is very hard from to move around our crawlspace; trenched 5 downspout to keep water away from foundation; now the project has been completed I would say encapsulating a dirt crawl space is as necessary for a home maintenance as good insulation and widows and should be done as soon as possible rather than waiting until it HAS to be done; I would give this company 20 stars if I could!!!!

Of the estimates, this was the highest. I selected them because they had the longest warranty They were on time, friendly and did a very good job at cleaning. I will be using them for my porch as soon as the weather warms up

We hired Rob Martin CBS for a $50,000 plus foundation stability project. If your project requires engineering consultation and extensive communication between CBS management and its on-site workers, do not hire CBS. We experienced little customer service and sometimes their communication bordered on bullying. Concerns started when they recommended a modification to our engineer's original plan. Within a week of this conversation a sump pump was installed. They sent a bill for an additional $6K. We had a meeting to discuss all the accruing problems. Our main point of contention regarding the sump pump was that a change order was never presented, no pricing was reviewed and no agreement was ever obtained from us. CBS was not prepared to own this mistake. In our group meeting, Jason turned to the employee, Augustine, who installed the sump pump, looked at me and asked if I was prepared to tell Augustine that he needed to take the $6000 from his paycheck to cover the cost. Ultimately, CBS covered the cost of their mistake. This incidence was the catalyst for ongoing dysfunction. In this same meeting, negligent work was identified. * In the original foundation design, the French Drain was to be dug to 3-4 feet deep. The French Drain had already been dug and it had only been dug to 6-12 inches. *When digging the French Drain, instead of respecting our property and simply removing the patio pavers, the crew completely destroyed the patio by sawing down the middle of the patio pavers. The work continued and our property continued to be disregarded. A window was broken by the CBS concrete crew. 4 weeks later, and winter approaching, the window had not been repaired despite their awareness. When they went back to dig the French Drain, to the appropriate specification, they cut through a sprinkler line disabling the system. When they replaced the dirt, after digging the trench, they did not tamp it down correctly and that portion of the yard began to sink. The French Drain needs a pressure release cap to allow the system to function appropriately. They utilized solid caps which would have rendered the system ineffective should it ever be employed. There was a window flower box that one of the workers disengaged and just left it there. We were responsible for moving the furnace so that they could build a cement retaining wall. On the original plan, CBS was to verify the wall height with the engineer. This was verified with the engineer and the construction manager, Jose. Unfortunately, the CBS concrete guy built the wall above the verified height and also sprayed cement over all the furnace vents rendering them inoperable. The wall was too high thus making it impossible to re-install the furnace. The concrete guy failed to show twice to provide repair solutions. We told Jose we would hire our own contractor, to repair these problems and that we would bill CBS for the cost. Jose agreed. We had to hir

The crew was great
Thank you for your feedback Timothy!
Lalo and his crew were excellent. They were running behind, but called to let me know what was going on. Lalo was very courteous and his crew was respectful of our home; leaving the work area cleaner than they found it. The work was high quality and very efficient (5.5 hours for 38 linear feet of drainage channels and a sump).
Thank you for taking the time to leave us this wonderful review Stefan! Lalo and his crew are some of the best in the business and we are lucky to have them on our team. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to give us a call!
My project involved leveling my existing driveway slabs. The project presented several challenges for a number of reasons, however, Complete Basement Systems, after the project was completed, provided a full refund for the project. CBS stands by its work, no question. Next year, I will probably replace the driveway and plan to invite CBS to bid for the project.
I had a difficult exterior leak in stucco that was quite small. Rather than a sump pump they sealed the outside wall. But they left a gap at the top of the impermeable material that they adhered to the wall. This had to be repaired. Still not entirely convinced that it will adhere due to the rough surface of the stucco. There is only a one year warrantee on an exterior patch like this whereas an internal fix is much longer. Was expensive for the amount of time actually expended.
the crew I had doing my job was top notch. really wanted to make sure I was happy.
