The contractor did a great job but the sales man was not professional.

Workers did more than they had to. Left everything in perfect order. They worked constantly and very professionally. Very pleased with all they did! Wonderful job!

The finished floor looks good. But there were so many problems I would never recommend this company. Sales person was not knowledgeable. Empire said it did not know a permit was needed. I had to get the permit myself. Empire did not have contractors registered with the City. Weeks of delays to get the paperwork to get the permit. A one day installation took 3 full days for a 250 sq ft floor. I had to take several days off from work to get this floor put in. Poor and mis- communication with Empire and between Empire and the installers. The installers complained about how awful Empire is and told me I paid way too much for the floor. Throughout the process, when I contacted Empire staff to complain, I often did not get a response. Terrible experience all around. Just avoid this company completely. Not worth the headache.

I had vertical blinds installed by them. The blinds were more expensive than I expected, but they are supposed to be more mechanically sound than those sold by a big box store like Home Depot. The customer service was appropriate given the size of the job, nothing spectacular.

My Empire sales rep was Gordon Wing. He used an iPad to complete his measurements, which turned out to be incorrect when the installation contractor completed his hand-written measurements the day of installation. Empire knew of the issue before starting the job and still did it. They left me 2 planks though I was promised at least 2 boxes by Gordon. It is also standard protocol to leave extra material in case of damages. Now, I will need to redo my entire house if there is just damage to small area. Empire's Customer Service Manager, Diane, was condescending and awful to deal with and would not hear the issue far less attempt to correct it. Gordon, who created the issue, is avoiding my calls. I had 3 quotes from other flooring contractors and Empire matched the company I wanted to go with to get the job done. Gordon told me one flooring contractor, whose measurements showed higher than his, was robbing me when it turned that his measurements were wrong and Empire robbed me and blamed the error on the iPad but never corrected the issue. The installation contractor told me the last day of the job he was supposed to pick up 9 boxes but they only gave him 5 to finish my job. I'm escalating the issues to BBB.

I had wood laminate installed throughout my condo. With the exception of a few drips of glue here and there, I thought it looked great and is quality material. However, when I started moving furniture to lay new area rugs, I found HUGE globs of glue under the couch and bed. I haven't yet looked under the rest of my furniture; I am a little afraid to. Under the bed alone there were 8 spots of glue, 4 of which were as large as a slice of bread! They were also covered with black cat hair that had stuck to it...GROSS! Concerned that scraping would damage the floor, I purchased Goo Gone to clean it. It came up but a permanent mark (or stain?) was left behind (from the glue, not the cleaner). I will have to keep those areas covered with furniture or rugs for as long as I live here as they are highly visible. I also found gaps between to flooring and the wall which will also have to be covered. And finally, I found several holes near corners and edges where it was cut too short so an ill-fitting piece was stuck in the hole but not attached in any way. Very shoddy work. For the price I paid, I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in the quality of the installation!

They did the vinyl flooring in my home. It looks nice. I haven't had any issues with it so far. I had an issue with the quote. Turned out the sales rep who came out to my home was charging me for furniture removal. The house had no furniture at the time. The wait time for customer service can be long. The representatives sometimes put the caller on hold for a long time with no solution when they return.

My only complaint is that they left lots of cigarette butts, and some fast-food trash around the driveway area.
