    Hired Hometown in Sept 2020 to install a floor outlet and eliminate low hum in canned lights on a dimmer; Troy Lavendar performed the service. No issues with installation of new floor outlet into the wood floor in the desired location, although we would have preferred the outlet to be inset into the floor and not rest above it (he had basement access). As for the low hum, Troy indicated an incandescent dimmer was at fault. He replaced the dimmer with a new LED Lutron dimmer switch. The low hum remained. He then recommended replacing the 8 canned lights. We declined to replace the canned lights (which are not even 2 years old), and he charged us $168 for the dimmer switch he replaced. After he left, we were NOT HAPPY to find that the original Lutron dimmer WAS indeed an LED dimmer (we always ask to dispose of parts ourselves), and in fact, the new dimmer was the same exact model as the one he replaced it with. Either he did not know any better or felt he could score a larger job by recommending replacement of the cans. We believe the latter was the case. The total cost of this job was almost $600. We will not use Hometown again.

    Electrician was knowledgeable, took the time to explain options, made suggestions to improve our electrical system. Repairs were done efficiently and the area was left clean. I would definitely use this company again.
