    The Empire salesman did a great job selling Empire insuring us about the quality of work and customer service to make us customers for life. These were the main reasons we went with Empire even though it was a more expensive. After the tile install, there was no inspections, no paperwork. We subsequently found issues with the install. Two tiles have factory defects and need replacing and the quality of work is substandard. Some tiles are different heights than the tiles around them, the grout lines are of different widths (and not just a little, often twice the size) and there are numerous areas that the thinset was not applied correctly leaving voids between the tile and the thinset. These are heard as the dog’s nails point it out each time they walk on it and the voids will significantly affect the bond strength eventually leading to tiles popping loose or cracking. We called Empire and have had three appointments scheduled (where either my wife or I have taken a day off) and the contractors never came. Twice the contractor never even called. It was a run around trying to contact the Empire Complainant Resolution line each time. On the third scheduled appointment, the contractor called and said it was too far for them to come (but was not too far to come and receive payment for the job). Our issues are still unresolved and we are very disappointed with the quality of work and customer service. I know Empire contracts out their work but Empire is responsible for their contractors.

    The 2 men couldn't communicate with each other as one spoke Spanish and other one didn't know what he was saying. Felt I had to keep an I on them to make sure they put the right products in. And one did most of the work while other one talked and was slow
