How We Got Started

I chose to work in this industry because I have always been fascinated by the inner workings of mechanical systems and how they impact our daily lives. When it came time for me to choose a career path, I knew that I wanted to work in a field that would allow me to constantly learn and problem solve. This led me to the HVAC industry, where I have been able to combine my passion for mechanics with my desire to make a tangible impact in people's lives. One of the main reasons why I chose to work in the HVAC industry is because of its essential role in society. Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems are crucial for maintaining comfortable and healthy indoor environments, whether it be in homes, offices, or commercial buildings. In extreme weather conditions, these systems can even be lifesaving. Knowing that my work directly contributes to the well-being of individuals and their living or working spaces is incredibly fulfilling..

These guys were GREAT! They are brothers and work well together. Eli responded to our cry for help (40Â° indoors!!) within an hour of our selecting 3 companies to give us quotes on an Energy Star furnace installation. They could come the next day but we waited to get the other 2 quotes...only one of which replied with a appointment for 5 days later (BRR), with almost the identical quote. What was really helpful was the brothers noticed that the date on our water heater indicated it was 22 years old! Life expectancy is 13-15 years so a flood was imminent. Also they showed us the condition of the ducting when they removed the old furnace. The panel was rusted through in parts and when they checked the ducting in our crawl space, they took photos of the condition. It was clear that we were heating the outside through the many placed where the ducting had rusted through after being used for a year short of 50 years. We had no idea! Though the cost of the duct work we hadn't anticipated, ll the work the brothers did has made things better for the environment and will save us money in the long-run. We highly recommend these brothers....friendly, helpful and knowledgable. They are good guys! Karen & Jim

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
