they did not put down any kind of cloth so there was soot on the floor around the fire place.

The technician that came out to perform the work was friendly (maybe a bit too talkative tho). He did a reasonably decent job, but refused to fill out a chimney health report that my pellet stove installer asked for, cos he didnt want to "accept responsibility for incorrect measurements". Seems like a petty thing to be rigid about. Tech arrived within expected window, and I got quick responses from the central number

Told me my fireplace cracks needed repair and that the stuff they use to patch is $250 a tube and I?d need 5 tubes. Total. $1500. I bought a 15 lb bucket of the stuff and Watched a u tube video and did it myself. Total cost $49. He did sweep the chimney and that was fine and was very nice guy.

The materials we use are not purchased through home depot as we try to use high grade, durable products that will perform to our stringent standards. Glad you were able to patch it yourself.
