Stephen was fabulous. Installed new toilet within a couple of hours. Ladies I spoke to on phone for scheduling and dispatching were easy to work with and accommodating to my schedule. Probably my new plumber group

Plumber was an hour late without any notice. I had to call the main office twice to get an update. He said he would need to cut drywall but did not mention he would not be patching it up. Repair work itself was barely acceptable, makeshift quality and insufficient cleanup. Over $400 for an hour and a half of work + a $20 part.

Technician was very professional and spoke in lay terms so I could understand everything he was doing. He pointed out some observances that have never been mentioned.

The price was good and the technician was very professional and gave my husband and I great options.

Hired Home Service Doctors for a leaky toilet. They were able to schedule a technician to come out the next business day on my timetable and not a 4 hour window like some other companies. They sent email reminders about my appointment, not that they needed to. They called me to let me know when the tech was on his way in about an hour's time. The tech actually came in 45 minutes. Explained my repair options, was not pushy at all to have the most expensive option done. We chose the 3rd least costly option because the tech said the other 2 options were really only if the whole toilet unit needed replacing which it did not. He even told us that the reason our toilet was leaking was most likely due to years of using additives in the tank. The ones to help keep your toilet bowl clean. He said the chemicals wears away at the seals and gaskets of the toilet. Never using those again ever. Tech finished the job in half the time promised. Would highly recommend them to anyone without hesitation. Thanks again, Home Service Doctors.

I hired Home Service to clear a gurgling kitchen drain. I thought a complete pressure-washing would be needed so I contracted for a somewhat expensive cleanup of the entire drainage system (to the ground). But the technician found that the clog was under the sink in the P-Trap. He suggested that we skip the full treatment which is what we did. Saved us over $500. I'd hire them again with no hesitation!

No work was completed. They crawl under to see the damaged pipe and inform me that it is a mess under my home. The diagnostic fee was $316. They call their manager who says they will not fix my problem unless I pay $7,700 for a complete re pipe. I am furious that they would not fix the issue that they found, and basically holding me hostage for $7,700. I will never be calling Home Service Doctors again, and I will be warning everyone I know to never use Home Service Doctors. This is a shameful service and totally crooked. Thank you (NOT) Home Service Doctors for charging me $316 to tell me I need to pay $7700 or I am out of luck.

Excellent customer service and workmanship. I thought that the quote was way overpriced for only about 7 feet of new gas line that was run from an adjacent boiler room to the laundry room. Their price was about four times higher than the average price quoted.

I was impressed with the friendliness of the staff and how quickly they responded to my needs. I had a flooded crawl space because my ancient sump pump had failed. I had to call in a water damage restoration company to clear out the water and debris which had been laying for a while and I needed someone to replace the sump pump immediately because my plumber was on vacation and I could not take any chances of the water building up again since we would have a lot of rain and the water table was up. I called Home Service Doctors in the morning and they said they would have someone out after 2 PM because that is when I was advised by the reclamation company the crawl space would be useable again. I got a call later and I was told that the technician was delayed. When I said that I could not wait because I had an appointment since I was leaving town, they reacted well by getting me another technician who came over soon after I talked with the C/S folks. He was a nice young man, pleasant and professional, apparently knowledgeable and ready and able to do the work. He obviously did a good job and did it quickly after he had to go get the parts needed. Got the new pump installed with a check valve and I saw the water gushing out of the discharge as soon the pump was plugged in. I felt secure in leaving the house going on travel. As of yet, I have not been back to the house to see how it is going but I seem to be confident. Here is my problem I was in a situation where I had to get his done and did not have any other alternative than to use whoever I called. The initial estimate was for over $1,000. When I complained about the price, the technician got on the phone and spoke to the manager who offered a reduction of $150 which I accepted (as I had no choice). They called this a member discount. In other words, they were doing me a favor by considering me a member of whatever club they have (a repeat customer or plumbing insurance club, obviously) even though I would not join since I was selling the house anyway. The initial estimate was approximately $750 for the pump (installed) and $260+ for a check valve (installed) which they said was code (I am not sure about that and am still researching it with Fairfax County). really I did some after the fact research. The liberty 1/3 horsepower sump pump is available for about $160.That means the installation for the pump only, cost $600. For not even an ½ hour worth of work There were no significant other materials to use (other than a two foot PVC pipe) and the pump plugs into an electrical outlet. The check valve is a $15 item. That means the charge for installing the check valve is somewhere around $240. Get this, the check valve is a Fernco which means it is joined by hard rubber tubes on each side and has two clamps with screws, one on each side, to connect to the PVC pipes. Here is how the installation goes: The technician unplugs the old sump pump and cuts the existing PVC pipe at the appropriate elevation. Then he sets the new sump pump into the sump well with a new (short) piece of pipe screwed into the pump outlet. After that, he simply connects the two pieces of PVC pipe with the Fernco check valve by tightening the two clamps with a screwdriver. And then he plugs the sump pump into the electrical outlet Voila A masterpiece OK, so they give me a $150 break. That lowered the installation price to about $700.This company told me that their service charge was $39 which would be waived if they would wind up doing the work. When I heard that, I thought this company must be on the level. Was I wrong Bait and switch are their obvious M.O. My plumber charges $100 for coming out to the house (service charge) and about $80 an hour if the job takes a while, plus parts and supplies.
