Reviews
Write a ReviewThe installers for this job We're very professional, polite, showed up on time and answered all my questions. They did a great job!
Got the job done.
They were suppose to balance the air, but he really didn't do that. just told me to close the vent in my bathroom close to my sons room and it made it worse. also told me he needed freon, but that also didn't help. charged me for the visit and the freon, which totaled to 96$ for nothing. although they were friendly, the service was bad. i would not recommend to a friend.
Once I requested service the company called within a few minutes. They sent someone out that same day and had my AC up in running that night.
They were very professional kind considerate I am so pleased with them they installed my new unit very fast and I could not have asked for any better
Velocity was quick to respond and brought me portable units so I wouldn't die while the AC was out. The unit was expensive but works like a charm.
Pros - Very prompt call back. Very prompt on keeping the scheduled appointment time - actually 30min early. Technician was friendly, courteous etc. Cons - I was pretty sure the problem was just a bad/blown capacitor on the outside unit pump and probably needed a little Freon. Technician confirmed both to be correct, but claimed that I needed to replace the the outside coil at a minimum ($1700+) and should actually replace entire system for $5500 or just replace the capacitor and add Freon for $540. When I had the initial call to set the appointment, I was told just a service call was $50 but if any repairs were done, the service all was "free&- pretty industry standard I chose to just have the capacitor replaced and Freon added. Tech told me the R22 Freon was no longer available as of 1 Jan 2020 - true. That there was a replacement available (R407) but it was only intended to be a bridge for current A/C systems to be upgraded and would not be available for long, but didn't know how long - semi true, this actual Freon is supposed to be R427a. Bottom Line - I thought the over all cost was a bit high. $540, minus the $50 for a basic service call, $490. The capacitor and installation was $271 a bit high and $271 for a little over 3 lbs of Freon that goes for under $400 for a 30 lb bulk tank. Like I mentioned, very good customer service, showed up on time, but service work prices were on the high side. Will personally shop around before I call them again.
We purchased not one but two heat pump units recently, two weeks apart, after our 30-year-old system's fan quit. Then about a week later, the 20-year-old system quit. Technician Drew Woolhiser made sure that everything got done, going so far as to give us his personal cell phone number to call if we ran into trouble. Through no fault of our own, Velocity was unable to complete the install on the first unit. The installer threatened to not activate the system unless we paid the balance due before they left the first day. Drew intervened and our system was activated. Workers showed up the next day to finish up. Knowing that Drew went out of his way to make ensure success, we invited him back to check out the malfunctioning second unit. It made more sense to replace it, and lead installer Kenneth Danielson went the extra mile to get everything working to our satisfaction. I do recommend Velocity, despite their several scheduling hitches and missing accessories.
Anthony Cook and Brian Dirk installed my system from velocity air conditioning we are very satisfied with the installation and plan to tell all of her friends and family about them and their company
