Reviews
Write a ReviewInexpensive and honest, love to have someone who is not trying to screw you!
Fair and honest. Their estimate was MUCH more affordable then the others I got. We had a few speed bumps along the way with the installation but Velocity came thru in the end and kept their word and everything came out good.
Fair and honest. Much better than the other that came for estimate
Seemed rushed & like they didn't want to be bothered with our system. When asked about additional services, we were shrugged off & our questions/requests were not answered. Rather disappointing, but I guess they just don't want our business.
Mark can on time, was very polite and respectful , very thorough in his work . He explained in detail about my system and the options I have. He was very patient in answering all of my questions. I would highly recommend Velocity .
They got in and finished the work quickly and they did a great job
I would like to say they helped but they didn't. The tech came out and toldmeit was a motor in the handler(?). He said he could replace it for $185+$49 for the service call. I told him I needed to contact my husband cause all I had was $100. After a brief amount of time and no luck contacting my husband. He agreed to do the work for the $100 but no warantee. I should have known then but was excited at prospect of getting house to not be 85° anymore. The house has not gone below 80° since the fix. I know my system is older(15yrs) but if this wasn't the right fix, I wish I had been told.
We had an after hours problem (on a Friday) and two members of the company worked several hours but got the old system working through the weekend. My wife and I decided to replace the air conditioner, three very nice workmen showed up early Monday morning and had the new system installed by early afternoon. Bravo - we thought they were great in every way.
I called Velocity to have a technician do a standard before summer check my 2 ½ ton a/c system at my condo. The technician they sent checked it and told me I needed a new a/c system after checking the pressures. To be sure, he could check it with an instrument that finds holes but it would cost $150. I told him ok. He said he checked it and claims there was a hole in the compressor that could not be fixed and it would cost $2300 to replace it and a hole could pop up somewhere else in the coil. He said I needed a whole new system costing $6900 for a 2 1/2 ton unit. However, if I decide to get it then, it would cost $5800. The system was only 8 years old and it seemed strange that I would need a new one. I told him I would think about it. A few days later, I had another a/c company checked it and told me there was nothing wrong with the system. Also, if I was to buy a new one, it costs between $3500 - $4200. In addition, the technician was IMHO incompetent. He opened the air handler to check inside and replaced the cover. After checking the outside condenser telling me I needed a new one, I told him to just leave it alone and I'll think about whether to take his high priced offer. When he turned the system back on, the air handler wouldn't come on. He told me it would take a few minutes. He left and after over 7 minutes, the a/h didn't come on. I caught him before he left and made him come back to correct it. He was not a happy camper" to return mentioning he was already there too long. When he did check out the a/h, he removed the cover and found the mistake he made. He had disconnected a capacitor to check it and failed to re-connect it. after that, the system worked ok. Also, I had a uv light installed inside the a/h and asked if he would replace the light bulb I had purchased as long as the cover was off and it had easy access. He said he would and he accepts tips. Now I would have given him a tip but I don’t like it when they make a comment like that. Besides, after what he did explained above, a tip was the last thing he would get from me. I called them to express my concerns and spoke to the woman who answers the phone. I asked to speak to the owner but apparently he was not available. After a few hours she called back to again apologize. I was surprised the owner or service manager didn’t call. I was in business for years and if I ever received such a complaint, as the owner I would be on the phone immediately with the customer trying the fix it. The fact that the owner didn’t call sent a message to me that he didn’t take it seriously. After such an experience, I would never use them again.
Friendly people, good quality, someone you can trust to get the job done correctly and efficiently.
