Reviews
Write a ReviewNice and friendly, cleaned up after they where done.
This was a full warranty repair (parts/labor) through my extended policy. After one week of diagnosis through dye injection ($270) and refrigerant ($93 lb) they stated they could not do the labor repair since they could only be reimbursed $25 from the warranty policy to install new part. Firstly, I believe this was a blatant lie -- secondly they have agreed with their distributor to accept assignment of scheduled fees under warranty work. Gave me credit for the $371 already paid, but charged an additional $373 for labor. Bottom line, I paid approx $750 for warrantee repair. They claimed their install labor price would be $975 - interesting -- that puts their hourly rate at over $300/hr. I should have denied installation fee, but still would have been out near $400 for dye and refrigerant. By the way, don't let any repair service suggest the dye method. Sources tell me that it is not good for the system and a sharp technician does not inject dye to figure out the problem -- just a money maker. I will not continue to be a customer, unless this part falls due to their install. Your business plan sure needs improvement.
We did not sell the A/C system or the labor policy. The companybthat did probably went out of business. We look for leaks with our electronic leak dector first and use dye second. We also came back out on a weekend and gassed up your system for free to keep you cool while the new evap coil was installed. Thanks for your review.
Expensive, but quality.
Very pleasant, upfront with charges, but seemed high to us with for both the service call and the refrigerant replacement. Nice service man. Enjoyed talking with him. Overall he did great with the air conditioner, just a tad expensive for us.
Jonathan was friendly and professional.
Good tech
We are happy with the over all job. The only problem was they did not arrive at our home with all the materials necessary to complete the job. We had to wait for them to return another day. End result, we are pleased with the work.
I booked the A/C tune-up which includes cleaning and brushing the coils. Technician was late and unprofessional on the phone with me, berating me for not having had my coil cleaned more frequently. He told my tenants that the system had mold and would cost $2700 to clean. I drove over there and took pictures and saw that he had done nothing. My tenant said he pulled back the couch to check and left it that way. They said he was rude and when he put the side door on the handler he only put back in one screw and not the second one. I called the owner at velocity and left a message to explain what happened and they never called me back. I spoke with two other AC who said that every system has mold in it just like your refrigerator. Plus the cost to clean the entire job was less than $300 by reputable AC company versus the $2700 repair quoted by Velocity. They use the fear tactics to make people spend enormous amounts of money. Do not recommend.
My a/c needed gas and the thermostat needed adjustment Svce was prompt and this is the first time I have used this company but liked the tech that answered the call.
